Culture, Health & Wellness: Southwestern Ireland Adventure

Join MYA on a amazing collaboration with AEA, Academic Experience Abroad. Adventurers will experience Southwestern Ireland in the fall in all of its cozy and breathtaking splendor.

Our group will come together to hike along gorgeous coastal cliffs, enjoy traditional activities like baking brown bread and playing music with local folk musicians, and take part in optional health and wellness activities like yoga.

Holly, Founder of Maine Yoga Adventures will accompany the group and lead an optional daily morning yoga practice on each day of the trip, so you can start each day with mindfulness and clarity. We may get an extra yoga practice in for some of our evenings, gentle and with wine in hand.

A preview of our first day’s itinerary: Transfer by private coach to Dingle, 'Ireland’s prettiest village', before heading to Killarney for a scenic hike to Torc Waterfall in Killarney National Park. Tour Muckross Creamery, run by Catherine and John Fleming, known for award-winning artisan ice cream made from their own farm’s milk. Learn how to make brown bread from Catherine and then savor homemade scones and brown bread in a traditional 1820s farmhouse. Continue along the Dingle Peninsula and experience breathtaking views of glorious beaches and lush shorelines. Discover the rich traditions and mysterious culture of the area, including its status as a Gaeltacht region where Irish is the daily language. Afterwards, transfer to local guesthouse. Remainder of the day free to rest and refresh. Welcome dinner at local restaurant (cost included).
