Norway Adventure: Oslo, Saunas & Lit Skies

Sold Out - thanks adventurers!

MYA will be exploring Norway at the perfect time to get in some city vibes, spa bliss Scandinavian style, catching the lights dancing across the skies, and cross-country skiing on beautifully groomed trails (or snowshoeing). We’ll have accommodations in Oslo and further afield to take in the countryside, enjoy having a vegetarian cook, MJ, whipping up delicious meals, and of course daily yoga with Holly. Crossing our fingers for late March snow!

Our first three eves will be spent in a luxury apartment in the embassy district in the heart of Frogner; beautiful placement to explore the city of Oslo. Large windows bring in lots of light into the apartment and the floor heating in all rooms will keep us warm during the chillier days.

Adventurers will have plenty of relaxation space with two lovely living rooms, two fireplaces, two balconies, 2.5 bathrooms, three bedrooms and one office (or small bedroom). The apartment is in a well-kept traditional building from 1910 yet fully modernized; the height and ornamentations of the ceilings pay tribute to the original style of the apartment.

MJ will make full use of the modern, fully equipped kitchen (including a built-in coffee machine). In a short walk we can find restaurants, local food shops (cheese!), the famous Vigeland Park with over 200 sculptures, and public transportation. Within 15-20 minutes walk you reach the castle and the main street Karl Johan. The bus will bring us to the center of Oslo in few minutes.

So much to do in our three eves in the city! We will hit the Oslo Fjord Sauna for sure and decide if we’d like to partake in the Thief Spa or Salt Spa right in the city. Or, we may decide to hop a train for an hour to The Well spa experience (not included in price: $50-$60 plus price of hr long trainride) with 11 different pools, 15 different saunas and steam baths, waterfalls, Japanese bathhouse with onsen, oriental hamam, and rhassoul.

Adventurers will go strolling, visiting the Munch museum, sculpture viewing, sauna drop ins, perhaps skiing, sledding, and park snowga if the weather is right. Let’s hope for SNOW! We’ll soak up all the goodness & fabulousness from Oslo.

Following the city excitement, adventurers will take the train to Lillehammer (incl in cost) to enjoy strolling and lunch. We’ll then switch over to two cars to make the drive, about a 1/2 hr, to the countryside. We’ll have our private dreamy cabin at Natrudstilen, Sjusjøen with fabulous views towards both Jotunheimen and Norefjell, and most importantly, a hot tub!

We can truly enjoy the paradise outdoors knowing that we have plenty of indoor relaxation spaces, another well-equipped kitchen, living room, dining room, and sleeping areas. The cabin is perfectly located for skiing in/out to the alpine slope and to the famous nordic trail network in Sjusjøen; just a short walk away is the ski center where we can get our rentals (skis or snowshoes).

We can explore the little town and the trails alongside the lake; also not far from the cabin is dogsledding! This is another experience along with skiing that will be up to adventurers, MYA can book the dogsledding (about $165 per person) once we have our numbers.

Let’s hope we get three wonderful eves of clear skies with the northern lights dancing just above us! More snowga with lots of soaking in between. All will definitely delight in more yummy hot meals from MJ after we come in from all the fun we can have in the great outdoors.

On Sunday, we’ll leave our cabin behind and head to one more locale that is sure to be unique and cozy. We’ll let our cars go, have another ride on the train to head a little north of Oslo to spend the night in two micro-houses on a historic property with the magistrate’s residence from 1921. The micro-houses of which there are four were designed by architect Benedicte Sund-Matisen, SUMA arkitektur, in Nordic contemporary architectural style. It is green throughout with local labor and the materials used such as green sedum mats on the roof. There is also a sauna on the property that MYA will get access to, yay!

Don’t miss out on a crazy good time in and around Oslo as we drink in all of the Norwegian fabulousness that we can! Please note that if you're coming from the US, we'll be flying out on Sunday to arrive on Monday to Oslo :)

Alpacas, Ramble & Wine Write Adventure

Join MYA in Unity, Maine where we’ll visit an alpaca farm, stroll through a beautiful land trust property, and have a tasting & writing session at Stone Tree Farm & Cidery. Cheryl Daigle will be our co-host leaning into her naturalist and artful composition expertise.

The adventure begins at the Northern Solstice Alpaca Farm, Maine Alpaca Experience where adventurers will get a tour of the farm and an opportunity to meet the cute, furry alpacas. Afterwards we’ll have time to shop in the alpaca gift shop with the most amazing clothing, gifts, and yarn. We can be sure to offer up a donation or make a purchase to support them.

With lots of warm fuzzies from the farm, we’ll head out to the Richardson Memorial Preserve for a walk through a variety of field and woodland habitats including a lovely stretch along Sandy Stream. The 116-acre property is the summer home to grassland birds such as Bobolinks and Savannah Sparrow - we will learn how land is managed for these and other migratory birds and listen for early migrants. Cheryl will be leading the stroll adding in details of the natural world as we pass by and Holly will find pauses to move our bodies, breathe, and meditate. There could be snow but maybe not, either way all are sure to enjoy. If you’d like to make a donation to the land trust to support their work, this day would be a great opportunity.

Cheryl is the executive director of the Sebasticook Regional Land Trust. She was the editor of Northern Woodlands magazine and an editorial assistant for Orion magazine. Her writing has appeared in regional literary and conservation publications throughout New England. She enjoys exploring the natural wonders of Maine whenever she can get away from the computer and started nature journaling when she was a child.

After our stroll the next stop will be Stone Tree Farm & Cidery established by Brian Erickson and Frank Haferland. Frank has a background in Geology and Brian has a background in Forestry which brought about the name of this wonderful establishment. With a love of wine and cider they pursued their dream of starting and operating their own establishment. Together, a perfect pairing.

At the farm, we’ll be in the new red barn, super exciting! MYA will bring along yummy vegetarian food to share. Cheryl will guide us through some writing prompts that adventurers can work on and can share with the group if they like. All can have a tasting of their choice and settle in to create prose and listen to storytelling with absolutely no judgement. No writing or yoga experience is necessary to join in this Sundayfunday.

Don’t miss out on a super layered, wonder filled adventure in Unity! We’ll get in a sweet alpaca visit, a guided stroll on a beautiful land trust property, a wine/cider tasting, yummy vegetarian food, and an opportunity to express ourselves thru writing and sharing.

Cost: $50

Payment is accepted via Venmo @maineyogaadventures_ or please use the credit card method below.

Vegetarian Charcuterie & Chai Tea Adventure

Join MYA for a very tasty collaboration of local small businesses in Brewer, Maine. Adventurers will create their own vegetarian boards with Downtown Charcuterie, enjoy the riverwalk with yoga flows, and then visit Tiller & Rye to make chai tea. A spring feast for the senses!

First up, we’ll meet at Downtown Charcuterie right over the bridge from Bangor. A fabulous women-owned small business; they make personalized charcuterie boards, boxes, cups and grazing tables for events of any size, catering to the whole state of Maine. They will give us all the ingredients, supplies, and creative freedom to create our own charcuterie boards. These will be spring inspired eight inch boards full of all the yumminess that your heart & soul desires. Adventurers can snack on some of the food there but still have plenty to bring home.

Afterwards we’ll spend time outdoors on the riverfront walk, a lovely path along the Penobscot River. Some flowers may be popping up if we don’t get a late snowstorm. This will be a slow stroll taking our time to digest and to mix in a few yoga flows at different points on the walk.

Next up is a visit to local natural grocer Tiller & Rye, another terrific women-owned business which features fresh produce, cheeses, dietary alternatives, bulk spices and grains, fresh baked breads, craft beers and organic wines. Adventurers will gather for a class on making traditional Indian chai from scratch using medicinal spices from the bulk section. This heartwarming and delicious tea has numerous benefits for your body and soul.

Sec will not only take you through the tea making process but also provide herbal knowledge of the ingredients used. Adventurers can bring home their own batch to enjoy. There will be time afterwards to peruse the store and purchase some of their unique goodness if you like.

Don’t miss out on an opportunity to support your local small businesses! We’ll have a wonder filled adventure with plenty of food & drink inspiration as well as fresh air & movement.

Cost: $75 Payment is accepted via Venmo @maineyogaadventures_ or please use the credit card method below.

Montreal Adventure

Montreal Adventure

Early Bird Pricing, just a little shaved off thru April 4th…

Spend a long weekend with MYA in super cool Montreal, Canada! This is a revitalization of an adventure planned in 2020 and we all know what happened to that, covid cancelled. We’ll be staying at fabulous apartments in the heart of the old city. Adventurers will enjoy zipping about town via the metro, hiking Mount Royal, biking and market strolling, visiting the Biosphere Environmental Museum and Botanical Garden, trying out the circus arts, enjoying yoga outside, eating lots of yummy food and more…

On Friday we’ll have a flexible arrival time meeting up at the hotel around happy hour to welcome all into the city and settle into our rooms. We have three rooms, two bedroom apartments and a suite. Adventurers can share a queen bed or have one to themselves or choose a sofa bed. With a couple kitchenettes in our reservation we’ll eat a vegetarian dinner prepared by MYA cook, Brooke, then hit Old Montreal, dating to the 17th century with narrow cobblestone streets full of lively plazas and charming shops and cafes. It might be wicked fun to go on a ghost tour but MYA can set it up as an optional activity if not every adventurer is comfortable with spirits :)

Adventurers will enjoy a tasty breakfast provided by MYA then head out to hike Mount Royal, an extinct volcano. We’ll go early to avoid the heat. The park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the designer behind New York's Central Park. There’s an easy five mile loop to enjoy with a wide range of flora and fauna. Along the way we’ll be sure to get in some yoga :) We’ll also get a chance to visit the Chalet, the Beaver Lake Pavilion and perhaps towards the end of our visit, we’ll stop at the Café des Amis for a bite to eat.

Post-hike we’ll find out what the local culinary culture is all about at the Jean-Talon Market located in the heart of Little Italy. In addition to fruits and vegetables, the market has flower stalls, spice shops, cheese, a chocolate shop, an ice cream parlor, an Italian specialty store, pastry stores and an array of specialty shops. MYA will pick up some seasonal ingredients and unique specialties for dinnertime. Keep in mind that Brooke our cook is French speaking and will create inspired dinners with as much local cuisine as possible.

Saturday in the late afternoon we’ll have a date with Chateau de Circue, an old cinema converted into a circus school. Yes, adventurers will get two hours of playtime on a flying trapeze and with other fun circus elements such as the hoop and acro yoga as well! No worries, it’s safety first with these exciting possibilities at Montreal’s best spot for learning to fly. Your needs can definitely be accommodated, not great with heights, I’m sure there can be some playtime with props in a well grounded situation for you. Absolutely no experience necessary for anyone, it’s just for fun! And, if you’d rather opt out, no worries.

On Sunday adventurers will hop on bikes and take the Lachine Canal path along a boat canal, past the Atwater Market, and all the way to the Musée plein air de Lachine in the west, a beautiful sculpture garden right on the river. If the group is overcome by riding awesomeness, adventurers can continue on a bike path through LaSalle and Verdun, along the St. Lawrence waterfront cycling path, stopping at a nature sanctuary and maybe even checking out some river surfers to see if we’d be up for it ourselves.

There are beaches in Montreal that we may like to check out and dip our toes in to cool off. The Clock Tower Beach is right in our neighborhood.

After lounging around in the hotel post-bicycling, adventurers will get a chance to check out the Biosphere, the only environment museum in North America with a mission to raise awareness and encourage environmental action and commitment. Close by is the world renowned botanical garden - the gardens will be a perfect place to enjoy fresh air, natural beauty and an outdoor yoga flow. Please know that the yoga throughout the adventure, beginners and beyond, it’s for everyone.

Adventurers can take in the glorious Notre-Dame Basilica, a soaring Gothic Revival church, and perhaps the Pointe-à-Callière museum with city archeological ruins as well. If adventurers have a sweet tooth, there are yummy chocolate dipped ice cream cones readily available. And, just in case anyone needs to try out amazing vegan food for lunch, there’s the perfect spot.

Please know that our schedule during the weekend is flexible and subject to change. As a group we can arrange for more or less to happen.

A couple funky things to note, Montreal has a lively underground, axe throwing, ziplining, ice skating, stand up paddleboarding, night life, and of course, river surfing. Holly, founder of MYA, would like to squeeze in a thermal spa experience and there are a few options right in our neighborhood such as Scandinave Spa and Bota Bota. If we want to jump in a car and head to Strom Spa, that’s a fabulous option as well. If adventurers have time on Monday before traveling and if we haven’t gotten to something that your heart was yearning for, there are opportunities for more fun!

Please know that Holly’s son Augi, 16 yrs old, will be adventuring with us. If you’d like to bring along a family adventurer, perfect, just let Holly know and we’ll figure out options.

Don’t miss out on stirring up your wonder and curiosity as we explore the amazing Canadian city of Montreal as we wish happy independence day to the US from afar!

The cost includes three nights of accommodations, breakfasts & dinners, hiking, circus class (optional), yoga sessions, positive vibes

Pop-Up Adventure: Woodsy Stroll & Spa

Join MYA for a lovely stroll on the Davis Conservation Easement in Orono followed up by quality spa time at Sanctuary. Adventurers will also enjoy some yogic moments, yummy vegetarian food & positive vibes.

A notable parcel of the Orono Land Trust, not far from Sanctuary Spa, is the beautiful Davis Conservation Easement where our adventure begins. We’ll embark on a one mile loop trail taking in the forest that is held in forever wild status for perpetuity. With or without the snow, who knows what the weather will bring, it’s a nice place to be. Along the way we’ll find pauses to breathe and flow into yoga poses.

After our outdoor excursion, adventurers we’ll head indoors to relax and get in some serious self-care :) Sanctuary Spa is warm & welcoming and is offering up a new service by Candace, a foot detox and Zyto scans. Candace has recently become certified in Raindrop Technique and is offering it up at the spa but for our adventure we’ll get to try out Zyto Scans which can give you a report on your bodily functions and Ionic foot detoxes. Both of these modalities are wonderful tools to look at your body and see what you can do to help yourself feel better.

An additional offering is a short Reiki session with Jodi. Reiki (life force energy) is a safe method of spiritual healing for stress reduction, relaxation and self-improvement that everyone can use. During a Reiki treatment, the practitioner will gently place their hands on or above your body to guide you into a relaxed state where energy patterns can be identified and healed. The gentle treatment can bring about strong and lasting healing with the focus on the source of ailments and maladies. The results can feel miraculous.

We’ll be warming our hearts, souls, and bellies as MYA will have plenty of vegetarian food set out to indulge in. The group can lounge on the couches or comfy chairs taking time to be present and savor each moment. We always have fabulous adventures at Sanctuary Spa!

Don’t miss out on a wonderful Saturday excursion with a forest immersion, yoga flows, plenty of spa time, yummy food, great people, and the space to relax and decompress.

Cost: $50

Quebec Winter Carnival Adventure

Quebec Winter Carnival Adventure

Sold out, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Holly at 207-299-0082…

Come and enjoy an outdoor festival in Quebec’s winter wonderland with MYA! We’ll be there on opening night for Winter Carnival and stay a long weekend to get in all of the fun we possibly can. Enjoy outdoor snow inspired adventuring, yoga sessions, yummy vegetarian food, sweet accommodations in the old city, strolling, skating & sledding, and so much more…

One of our afternoons and/or eves can be spent at Valcartier, a wicked playground with an ice hotel, amazing tubing runs, a lit skateway, and an indoor waterpark. Adventurers get to decide how much they’d like to take on; a kind of choose your own adventure, riding a chill vibe or a do all the things vibe.

The winter carnival features super cool ice and snow sculptures, works of art made from giant blocks of snow and ice. These sculptures transform the city into a wonderful outdoor museum. The 100%-made-of ice Palace of Bonhomme is less than a 15 minute walk from our apartments. Bonhomme Carnaval, the snowman character, symbolizes the spirit of fun of this winter celebration. Every year the palace serves as a focal point for several Carnival activities.

There will also be the "Laser Game Evolution" at the Citadelle de Quebec, a magical night parade, and live music in a fairy-tale setting. Adventurers may like to watch the ice canoe racing, an extreme competitive sport where teams make multiple crossings of the frigid waters of the St. Lawrence River.

Our excursion to Valcartier will be epic! We’ll visit the Hôtel de Glace (ice hotel) with art and wintertime spectacle greeting you as soon as you enter the Grand Hall. The rooms are decorated with majestic sculptures with each one touting a different theme. We may want to indulge in a delicious cocktail served in a glass made of ice!

It will be up to each individual adventurer if they’d like to partake in the water park, Bora Parc, a Polynesian-style park with a large wave pool, over 14 water slides, an adventure river, a double surf wave attraction, and a restaurant with terrace. Adventurers can soak in a tropical paradise in the middle of winter; the cost for an evening frolic is $44.

Tubing is another area of excitement that we may want to get in on as well! We can bring along our ice skates, skis, and snowshoes to get in lots of extra snow specific activities :) If adventurers want to go in a different direction or add it into the adventure, there’s a nordic spa thermal experience in Old Quebec that we may want to explore for ultimate relaxation (yesss please!).

Our accommodations for three nights will be in quaint old Quebec; two twin beds and a queen bed in the main gathering apartment and a king bed and sofa bed in the second apartment. We have two more apartments that we added to accommodate our adventurers. The 19th century property is located directly on the famous rue Saint-Jean in the heart of the hustle and bustle of the Upper Town. The rooms have a spacious and bright character but best of all, views of historic Old Québec can be enjoyed from the roof-top terrace. With restaurants & pubs very close by, the Citadelle de Quebec is .6 mi away and the Chapel Museum of French America is 3 mi away.

Daily yoga will be offered up as well as outdoor snowga! Yummy vegetarian breakfasts, dinners, and happy hours will be served by MYA, lunches will be up to adventurers out on the town. The add-ons of spas, tubing, waterpark etc. will be up to adventurers, if we have consensus, tickets can be purchased ahead of time.

Don’t miss out on a wicked fun long weekend in a beautiful place with the quaint coolness of a European city to celebrate the wonderland that is the Quebec Winter Carnival!

Cost: $450/sofa bed; $500/twin; $600/solo queen; $800/shared queen (total cost for two); $900/shared king (total cost for two)

Payment is accepted via Venmo @maineyogaadventures_ or send a check or use the credit card method below…

Join MYA for a perfect collaboration: a wellness adventure with Moonsteeped!

Come together for a cozy and nourishing seasonally-inspired adventure designed to help you harmonize with the wintertime. We'll start out by gathering at 121 Mill Street for a meditative Chinese-style of tea service and sip on a dark earthy tea perfectly suited for this time of year. As we sip, Revy will share practical wisdom from Chinese Medicine to help you attune to winter's energy and find balance during this quieter time of year.

Revy will lead us through a practice of gentle and supportive qigong movements. Qigong is a self-healing system of movement comprised of slow movements that harmonize the body and mind. Qigong is suitable for everyone; no experience necessary.

Adventurers will then head outdoors and onto the nature trail that runs alongside the Stillwater River taking our time enjoying the view. If the snow is deep and beautiful we’ll wear snowshoes. As the timing seems right, yoga poses will be interspersed along the walk. Snowga!

Then we’ll head back to warm up at Moonsteeped, eat some yummy vegetarian soup, and connect with each other.

Don’t miss out on the sweetest local wintertime adventure! Enjoy a tea service, qigong practice, yoga outdoors along the river, teachings from Chinese medicine, a vegetarian meal, good vibes, and great company.

Revy is a licensed Chinese Medicine practitioner, acupuncturist, and owner of Moonsteeped in Orono. With a deep respect for the ancient wisdom of Chinese medicine, she’s dedicated to helping others find balance and harmony in body, mind, and spirit. Her true passion? Bringing people together over a pot of tea, creating space for connection, nourishment, & community.

White Sand Beaches & Snorkeling: St. Croix USVI Adventure

White Sand Beaches & Snorkeling: St. Croix USVI Adventure

  • St. Croix United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

For this winter’s island getaway, MYA has chosen tropical bliss on gorgeous St. Croix, a Caribbean Island with outstanding white sand beaches, turquoise waters, healthy coral ecosystems, and lush rainforest. Adventurers will spend seven nights in a villa surrounded by nature, enjoying daily yoga, scrumptious island eats, chill beach time, snorkeling (diving if you have the certification & gear), hiking, volunteering at a park, and more…

St. Croix is home to the Buck Island Reef National Monument, one of only three underwater national monuments in the states. Snorkelers and scuba divers can explore an underwater trail of protected coral reef, take in the native flora and fauna, and hopefully catch sight of a hawksbill turtle and brown pelican. Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge is another must visit locale, a hotspot for threatened and endangered species with the longest and most pristine beach in the Caribbean.

MYA’s accommodations for seven nights are in a private oasis, a serenity lover’s paradise. Our hillside villa is tucked away in the trees surrounded by lush landscaping, colorful tropical flowers, and banana and mango trees, creating a vibe adventurers won’t forget.

Our group will spread out into five bedrooms with beautiful views. The ceiling fans and air conditioning will keep adventurers comfortable. One of the king bedrooms with ensuite bathroom has massive windows and vaulted ceilings bringing the beauty of the island right into the room. On the second level of the home, there is another king bedroom with ensuite bath and balcony. The other three bedrooms, two king beds and one queen, are artfully decorated for luxurious sleeping experiences for friends or couples to share or solo visitors to spread out.

On the lower-level deck is the pool with plenty of lounge chairs and unbelievable views, the only reason you may need to go inside is to get something delicious from the expansive and sun-filled kitchen.

Although we don’t have hiking trails at the villa, Cane Bay is just one mile away known for its atmosphere and excellent snorkeling. When we’re not lounging at the villa or at the beach, adventurers can explore historic sites and lovely botanical gardens. There are two main towns, Christiansted and Frederiksted, that have a colonial feel with arched, shaded walkways and sorbet-colored buildings.

We’ll be sure to watch the sunrise at Point Udall, the easternmost point of the US then head to the Saturday Farmers Market at the Agriculture Fair Grounds to check out the produce, sauces, spices, and jams as well as offerings of farm-to-table breakfast. Yum! Scoping out the quiet beaches near Frederiksted is definitely on the itinerary as well as exploring a few short & sweet hiking trails.

Optional time volunteering on the island for a few hours will be offered up either within the parks or beaches or an animal rescue organization.

Adventurers will enjoy a daily yoga practice. Most breakfasts will be at the villa whilst a few can be spent trying out the local cuisine. Four vegetarian dinners will be offered up by MYA on alternating eves. Lunches are always dependent on where the group finds itself, sometimes leftovers are available and we can pack picnics. MYA will keep a nice supply of healthy snacks at the villa for all.

Come and love up a true island experience on St. Croix in the U.S. virgin islands pouring that abundant sunshine into your heart space!

Grand Hikes & Epic Sites: Arizona Adventure

Only 1 spot left!

Join MYA for eight days of fabulous hiking in Sedona and the Grand Canyon, ghosting in Jerome, chillin’ in Scottsdale, eating homemade vegetarian cuisine, yogifying, and so much more! Limited spots available…

Come together with Holly, founder of MYA and Sarah, our fab cook, as we take on some of the most gorgeous sites in Arizona. Adventurers will fly into Phoenix where we can spend some time at the desert botanical garden with plenty of open spaces for yoga and relaxing. Flights are booked on American Airlines and we’re more than happy to share the details with interested parties.

After taking in the gardens, we’ll head to Sedona, a sacred and powerful place where one can experience the mysterious cosmic forces that are said to emanate from the red rocks. We’ll settle into a beautiful sunset and happy hour.

Our comfy lux abode has wonderful access to hiking trails and is just a short walk to the iconic Chapel of the Holy Cross. We’ll be perfectly situated for three nights in a quiet Sedona neighborhood. Just a seven minute drive away, we can partake in sunrise yoga at the iconic Bell Rock then hike it.

When we're not out exploring, we’ll put our feet up and relax in the spacious hot tub, our comfortable seating area with views of Cathedral Rock, and the outdoor dining space. Indoors we can enjoy foosball, ping pong, and an authentic juke box. We’ll be experiencing Sedona in all of the ways!

Not far from our home is Jerome, a super cool mining town, where if adventurers are up for it, we can book a ghost tour. The range in cost is about $50-$100, Holly is game if you are!

We’ll still have time for more hiking, devils bridge with a cool arch is on the list as well as the iconic West Fork of Oak Creek, part of the Coconino National Forest. It is composed of an extraodinary ecosystem that gives it it’s captivating allure. Think canyon, creek, woods, and natural wonders all in 6.75 miles of worthwhile explorations.

After Sedona’s enchanting vibe and the special healing qualities of it’s vortex energy, we’ll move further north to more outstanding sites. MYA has booked a sweet spot to explore the Grand Canyon and all of it’s fabulousness for three nights so that we can get in sunrise on the rim and sunset surrounded by unfathomable beauty.

Located on the closest private property only a few minutes from the park, adventurers will settle into a home with plenty of space, two living rooms (one with a sweet fireplace and southwest decor), five bedrooms, and three bathrooms. Very private and quiet, we’ll be surrounded by nature and wildlife, nestled into our own little world only a minute off the highway to the Grand Canyon.

The large country kitchen will be delightful for Sarah to make the culinary magic happen. After gorgeous sunsets, we can enjoy the local nightlife with quiet evenings around the fireplace. The area encompassing the canyon is incredibly dreamy, surreal in fact.

We’ll explore the Grand Canyon as much as possible during our stay just outside the park then come to find peace, tranquility, and a beautiful star show at our mountain view home. A fire in the firepit will be a great spot to take it all in. The views are going to be outright stunning and our senses will surely be lit up from the mind-blowing landscapes of the canyon.

Having filled our beings with nature’s magnificence we will get to some quality volunteer time at a local animal shelter, High Country Humane, in Flagstaff. MYA will be happy to take on any tasks that they need that day as well as snuggling the animal residents. It’ll be difficult not to bring a fur baby home as it will be our last eve in Arizona!

After volunteering, we’ll travel to Scottsdale to spend time in the old town and at our fab pad with three hammocks, pool, and hot tub. From our living room and private backyard we’ll appreciate Camelback Mountain in all its glory. We’ll enjoy another fire pit and maybe a game or two of cornhole and/or shuffleboard. This home again has plenty of space with a modern open concept with four bedrooms (with dreamy memory foam mattresses) and three bathrooms with a cozy living room, and a nice kitchen.

Our drive to the airport the following day is not far, we’ll soak up as much goodness as we can before we have to say goodbye!

Throughout the adventure, MYA will offer up a yoga practice every morning either at our homestead or at our hiking location. If the timing is right, a nighttime practice isn’t out of the realm of possibility. Sarah will offer up vegetarian breakfasts and dinners with the exception of one night in Sedona and our last eve in Scottsdale. Lunches will be up to adventurers and our daily out & about schedule will help inform if we need to pack ourselves a personal picnic or stop in town.

Don’t miss out on this epic seven night adventure to Arizona packed full of amazing hikes & sites, yoga flows, food, good company, great vibes, and views & views & views!

Cost: $2200

Payment is accepted via Venmo @maineyogaadventures_ or send a check or use the credit card method below for either the full amount or a $1000 deposit.

Tunk & Tapas Adventure

Join MYA on an awesome hike up Tunk Mountain with views for days! It will be a beautiful spot to see the foliage as it’s starting to burst. We’ll visit a few ponds for dipping toes in and get in a yummy picnic with plenty of vegetarian tapas as well.

The adventure begins at the trailhead for Tunk and we’ll head off to the summit on a not too difficult moderate hike with a couple rungs and a bit of rock scrambling (it’s worth it!) - we’ll take our time and enjoy the sweet views along the way. There are two sides to the summit to explore which makes the mountain even more unique and lovely.

After practicing some yoga on the immense rock slabs, adventurers will head out to the Hidden Ponds loop which is just as stunning as the summit trail without the added exertion of uphill. We’ll be sure to have our bathing suits packed just in case the weather lends itself to a dip. In total, the hike is 3.6 out & back and we’ll add in an extra mile for some extra non-strenuous goodness as we stroll the loop.

Adventurers will then hike out of Tunk trails and head over to yet another beautiful pond for yummy vegetarian picnicking. We’ll hop in our car for a few minutes drive and lay out our blankie by the water to fill our bellies. This will be another opportunity to dip those toes in :)

Don’t miss out on this super fun Sunday of fresh air explorations, crazy views & tapas treats!

Two Peak Acadia Sundayfunday Hike

Let’s get outside & hike! Join MYA for another wicked awesome adventure with hiking in Acadia, mountaintop yoga, and a yummy vegetarian tailgate dinner…

Adventurers will take on Penobscot Mountain, our first sweet peak of the day, via the Spring Trail. Please note that this is a hike with outstanding views but it is strenuous. We’ll be taking our time and breathing in the beauty.

After yoga & snacks at the summit, we’ll continue hiking to Sargent Mountain, the 2nd highest peak in Acadia. Our loop will cross carriage roads with beautiful bridges. The hike is five miles in length and we’ll give ourselves six hours to get it done.

Our meet up point will be the Jordan Pond North lot (let’s carpool!), we’ll stroll to the boat launch and follow the shoreline path to the carriage road south which will lead us to the Spring Trail trailhead marker. Short diversion hikes are along the carriage roads, the 115-ft long West Branch Bridge and the stunning Cliffside Bridge.

Back on the Spring Trail we’ll begin to hit the cliffs with a few iron handrails and thick log fences along the way. No worries, these initial trials will subside to easier terrain.

Adventurers will take their time at the summit, enjoying some chill moments. Eventually we’ll descend Penobscot into a small forested valley. As we ascend the other side, we’ll take in an enchanting isolated pond before the Sargent South Ridge Trail. Let’s dip our feet in!

After enjoying the summit of Sargent we’ll connect with our return trail, the East Cliffs Trail heading back towards Jordan Pond. The next stretch, the Deer Brook Trail, is a fairly rugged trail that follows a small stream; we’ll be on the lookout for exposed tree roots. At the carriage road is another wondrous bridge, the Deer Brook Bridge where we can continue down the trail to the scenic Jordan Pond Path or if head out quickly on the carriage road south back to the Jordan Pond House and parking areas.

Post hike, we’ll break into a tasty spread. MYA is hoping to catch a glimpse of the big moon that evening, not quite full but bound to be lovely.

* Please note, if two peaks are too much for you, you could hike Penobscot Mtn with us then head back down slowly to the car and we’d meet back up with you there for food time :)

Come join the MYA community on a Sundayfunday with all of the goodness of getting outside and enjoying quality time together…

Cost: $45

includes hiking in Acadia, mountaintop yoga flow, tasty food, great views & good vibes

Payment is available via VENMO (@maineyogaadventures_) or check in the mail or add to cart below.

Pack Raft & Hike: Hirundo Adventure

Pack Raft & Hike: Hirundo Adventure

Come on a truly unique adventure as MYA partners with local small business Packraft Maine at Hirundo Wildlife Refuge. Join us for a fun exploration of the refuge with the help of a new way to get out on the water, Packraft Maine! We will explore the streams and woods, paddling, hiking & yogifying. Adventurers will also get in lots of yummy vegetarian food picnic style.

The adventure begins at Hirundo’s canoe launch in Old Town. With over 2,400 acres of pristine natural wilderness, seven miles of walking trails, and educational activities for all ages, Hirundo Wildlife Refuge is a true gem. Whether on the water or in the woods, there’s much to enjoy, learn and witness as this refuge works to protect the land, bird populations and other wildlife.

Adventures will ready themselves for paddling on the stream with some movement. Then we will inflate our packrafts, embark, and head downstream. But what is a packraft? Packrafts are small lightweight inflatable boats paddled with a kayak paddle. No experience, no worries, you’ll get guided instruction the whole way through. They easily pack up to fit inside a backpack. Yes, we will get a chance to utilize that super cool feature.

Paddling about a mile down Pushaw Stream offers a mix of slow waters with beaver dens and quick water with waves and current to play in. We are likely to see birds including Eagles, Herons, Kingfishers, and maybe even beavers or muskrats. Arriving downstream we will deflate our boats and get in more stretching and a lovely picnic. With full bellies and stretched out bodies, we’ll pack up for our hike. Using Hirundo’s trails system we will make our way back up to the start. The hike will be between 1.5 and 2.5 miles depending on the trails we choose to explore.

Don’t miss out on this wonderful Sundayfunday blend of outdoor activities! All are welcome.

Cost: $65 including paddling, hiking, yoga, picnic, good vibes

Blissful Immersion: Copenhagen Adventure

  • Copenhagen Denmark (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

One spot opened up!

MYA is going for a sweet deep immersion into Copenhagen, the charming capital of Denmark, known for its iconic landmarks, stunning architecture, Scandinavian culture, and emphasis on wellness. The beautiful city is mostly comprised of national parks and stunning remote natural areas with the energetic feel of a city. Copenhagen is undeniably a walkable, bikeable (more than half of residents ride), and many modes of public transportation easy to get around wonderful place to be. Adventurers will discover Hygge, a Danish term, being in a state of comfort, relaxation, and peace with the ones around you. Cozy.

At a perfect time of year with temps in the low 70s, MYA will take up residence for seven nights in a penthouse, two stories with lots of natural light, two beautifully decorated bathrooms, and multiple comfy corners in a lovely neighbourhood next to the royal residence of Amalienborg (changing of the guards at noon!). The historic charm and nordic design is well preserved with two French balconies, an open living room, kitchen, and dining area. A king sized bed is on the first floor and an internal spiral staircase leads to the second floor with two bedrooms each fitted with two single beds. Steel framed glass walls separate the bedrooms from a lounge area and private entrance for the top floor. The building has the highest eco-certification and does not use single use plastic.

Positioned in the heart of the city, we’ll have an ideal place to explore Copenhagen on foot, bike (we’ll get rentals for the week), or from the water. There are lovely spots for outdoor yoga near Kastellet, an old army fort, next to our abode. We’ll definitely take a swim in the free harbour baths! A harbour tour leaving from Nyhavn is on our adventure list. Floating hot tubs are a possibility! GreenKayak will be perfect for our group, we can pick up trash in the harbor as we paddle.

Freetown Christiania, an intentional community and commune is a not to be missed neighborhood in Copenhagen, home to concert venues, bars, organic and vegetarian eateries, art galleries, and nature. A bit touristy but worthy of a visit will be Tivoli with exotic architecture, historic buildings, lush gardens, and an amusement park. At night thousands of lights create a fairytale atmosphere and we may catch a glimpse of guinea fowls or peacocks who roam the premises.

MYA will soak in the vibe from the old ship yard with an exceptional and unforgettable experience in New Nordic Wellness at a wilderness facility in an urban setting with fire-heated hot tubs and saunas intermingled with big cold plunge tubs. If adventurers are up for it, we could do an hour of hot tubbing paired with an hour of the panoramic sauna with an amazing view of CopenHill. More spa experiences will be at our fingertips throughout Copenhagen…

MYA will cover a few breakfasts and dinners with the fresh outdoor food markets just a walking bridge away across from Nyhavn. Otherwise we’ll be hitting many local eateries to get a feel for Danish foods. An optional cooking class will be offered up and a lot of amazing bread and pastries will be available to us, Brød and/or Hart and/or Myers and/or Ole and Steen, all of it! Adventurers can try Mikkeler beer for happy hour to soak up the yummy carbs. Another option to immerse ourselves properly is a beer tasting.

And…surprise, if we can drag ourselves away (there are castles to visit which haven’t even been mentioned!), we’re taking a side trip to Sweden! Malmo is a short train ride from Copenhagen that’s hard not to visit with it’s coastal proximity, large food market, and the possibility of a lovely bike ride into the countryside and a toes in the sand stroll on the beach. The city is quite quaint and adventurers will surely enjoy it as a day trip.

Holly performed at an experimental theatre in Copenhagen over twenty years ago, it’d be cool to see a show there! There are lots of possibilities in our effort to immerse ourselves into the culture of the city. Adventurers can decide to purchase a Copenhagen Card for access into attractions and public transportation as we get closer to the date and firm up our schedule.

Included in the adventure: 7 nights accommodations, daily yoga practices inside & out, 3 dinners & 3 breakfasts, bike rental for the week, positive vibes

Cost: $2300/twin bed/available ON SALE $2000; $3000/king bed solo/$4000/sold out king bed shared/sold out
