Donkey Walk & Seafaring Museum Adventure
Join MYA on a unique local adventure with donkey strolling, barn yoga, a vegetarian gourmet lunch, and a visit to Maine’s oldest maritime museum.
We’ll begin with getting to know a herd of donkeys and pairing up to stroll with them. These coastal donkeys are well-cared for and treated as part of the family. As soon as MYA saw that Downeast Donkey Walks was available in Searsport, it was a no brainer - all the love for donkeys! From one local Maine small business to another, we’re happy to support you :)
After our walk & chat with the sweet beasts, we’ll move on to yoga in the big barn. If you have a yoga mat, bring it, it’s the perfect spot for a nice stretchy flow (no experience necessary!).
Of course, there’s food! MYA will bring along a delicious vegetarian picnic that we’ll eat at the farm.
Following up donkey fun is a visit to the Penobscot Marine Museum that inspires curiosity and fosters understanding about life and work on the Maine coast to encourage stewardship of the communities and the sea. Explore Maine’s many working waterfronts and become familiar with the people who have populated them. Hands-on exhibits, historical artifacts, fine art, and a research library are all housed in centuries-old structures.
From raising a sail, singing a sea chantey, or reading a seaman’s diary to seeing the tools and jigs of renowned boatbuilders, all of the Penobscot Marine Museum offerings serve to spread the stories of the tightly-knit communities of Mainers whose lives and livelihoods have long been sustained on or by the sea. MYA has been longing for a visit and can’t wait to share the experience with adventurers.
After our soaking in seafaring insight, either adventurers can head home or join MYA at Hey Sailor! The pub is very close by and super cool. Another optional add on is a stop by Sears Island or Moose Point State Park for another stroll :)
Don’t miss this quirky fun Saturday adventure with donkeys & boats and so much more!
Cost: $105
includes donkey walk, yoga, vegetarian meal, admission to Penobscot Marine Museum, good vibes & great people

Utah Adventure: Zion, Bryce & Best Friends Animal Society
Join MYA for a spectacular hiking & animal snuggling adventure in Utah. We’ll explore one night in goofy Vegas then move on to outstanding Zion National Park & Bryce Canyon National Park. We’ll spend quality time with Best Friends Animal Society and absorb the red cliffs of St George for our last eve together. Adventurers will get in plenty of yoga, hiking, vegetarian food, critter cuddles, and good vibes along the way!
Adventurers will fly into Las Vegas to spend one night to hike, acclimate and goof around. Seventeen miles away from the city is an amazing slice of nature - Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. This site is 200,000 acres of desert, pine forests, waterfall-covered canyons, and sandstone cliffs, yes! Adventurers can take a hike before checking into the hotel to stretch legs and breath in the awesome beauty.
There may be some gambling & cheap drinks in the mix. We will be staying on the strip, old-school Vegas vibes, in pyramid premier rooms with angled windows and two queen beds in each (please know that the rooms can be adjusted if there’s a couple in our mix). We’re hoping the pool area will still be open on the 6th, fingers crossed for the four pools & hot tubs! Luxor also has a fitness area, spa, and casino - adventurers will have plenty of options to keep them busy.
From the over-the-top city, adventurers will move onto an absolute stunner of a property for three nights in Zion. The secluded retreat center allows for nature immersion, hiking, meditation, journaling, yoga, and more. Nestled within and completely surrounded by breathtaking landscapes of Zion National Park, the 10-acre estate offers up traquility with wildlife as the only neighbors. We’ll take in views of Tabernacle Dome, Lamb’s Knoll, Cave Valley, and vast meadows. The night sky is going to be gorgeous!
The villa features a spacious great room with indoor twin red cedar trees and a wood-burning stone fireplace, a lovely gathering spot. The kitchen is full of goodness where Sarah, our cook, will be busy whipping up delicious vegetarian meals. The dining area will be perfect to relish our food together. There are three bedrooms with queen beds, a bedroom with two twins, and a bedroom with bunk beds - plenty of room to spread out. MYA’s favorite amenity of a hot tub will be there, perfectly placed with views for days.
Adventurers can reach Zion National Park trails from the villa and the property also has a walking labyrinth and a statuary path. So much hiking to be done! There are at least twelve trails easily accessible from our location. For relaxing outdoors are three dining and seating areas, chaise lounges, a medicine wheel, fire ring, and a chimayo fireplace. We will extract all of the goodness that we possibly can from our Zion experience both at the homestead and beyond.
Bryce Canyon National Park is our next glorious site, known for crimson-colored hoodoos, spire-shaped rock formations. The Bryce Amphitheater and the rim trail hike have outstanding views even more exemplary during sunset and sunrise.
Our accommodations for one night are close to the park, in pioneer village, a house with five bedrooms (4 king beds & a queen) and with our need for more space, we also have a room in the hotel with two queen beds. Hopefully we can catch some live music during our stay!
The journey will continue from beautiful Bryce to 6,000 acre Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab - tucked into majestic canyons with red rock vistas, surely a magical place. We have secured a volunteer experience, a unique opportunity for a hands-on service project. Best Friends will provide animal interactions for us as well, adding an unforgettable dimension to the experience. Just to make it even more exciting, we will bring a dog to spend the night with us!!!
Our accommodations are at Best Friends Roadhouse and Mercantile and we’ll have two two-level suites, one of which will have a dog :) The first floor has a living room with a pull-out queen sofa sleeper (no adventurers will need to take that bed), a half bath, and a kitchen with dining area. The upper floor has a full bathroom, twin bunk beds and a king, a slide-out pet bed and two pet nooks for sleeping and snuggling. After returning our overnight guest we can enjoy more hiking…
We’ll head to Red Cliffs National Conservation area, a 44,000-acre protected site featuring vibrant sandstone cliffs, canyons, and diverse Mojave Desert wildlife. We’ll be enchanted by the Red Reef Trail and hope to spot a desert tortoise or a gila monster rambling by. Snow Canyon State Park is within the conservation area and absolutely worthly of our visitation.
Our accommodations are in downtown St George at a quaint historic b & b. We’ll enjoy a sun terrace, a garden, and a super yummy breakfast. Our three cheerful rooms are beautifully decorated with antiques. Adventurers can decide upon one more hike in the area before heading back to Las Vegas or hike somewhere else along the way. Please look into an evening flight for our return so that we can take our time getting to the airport - thank you.
Don’t miss out on an epic adventure, a whirlwind tour, exploring some of the most gorgeous places in Utah! Connect with nature, wildlife, and sanctuary rescues. MYA will offer up seven nights of accommodations, transportation within Utah, a yoga practice every morning, daily and sunrise & sunset hikes, breakfasts, five dinners, stargazing, wicked good vibes, and more…

The winter carnival features cool ice and snow sculptures, works of art made from giant blocks. These sculptures transform the city into a wonderful outdoor museum. Every year the palace serves as a focal point for several Carnival activities.

It will be up to each individual adventurer if they’d like to partake in the water park, Bora Parc, a Polynesian-style park with a large wave pool, over 14 water slides, an adventure river, and a double surf wave attraction.
Tubing, we might get in on that as well! We can bring along our ice skates, skis, and snowshoes to get in lots of extra snow specific activities :) If adventurers want another add-on, there’s a nordic spa thermal experience in Old Quebec for ultimate relaxation - actually, you don’t want to miss out on Strom Spa, it is legit fabulousness!

Inn by the Sea Ghostly Adventure
Rescheduled for a second time!
Join MYA for full body chills as we absorb the mystery and luxury of the Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth. We’ll stay for one evening in a suite with ocean views, enjoying a delicious vegetarian dinner, a yoga practice, ghost searching, outdoor strolling, optional spa time, and more…
Inn accommodations will be in a lovely two bedroom beach suite; if there’s interest, we can add on extra rooms. The suite includes a fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, a posh living room, and balconies with sweet views.
At the Inn by the Sea paranormal activity is bound to draw you in - tables set without the hands of servers, mirrors reflect past personas, and a ghostly bride wanders the shoreline. Lydia Carver, deceased, has been spotted on Crescent Beach in her wedding gown. In addition to our seaside search, adventurers will visit the small cemetery where Lydia rests with an always strangely immaculate grave.
To add in a bit more magic throughout the inn, guests have reported seeing spectral figures dressed in old fashioned attire, a mirror near the dining area is notorious for eerie sightings. Take a peek, if you dare! Phantom phone calls ring at the inn without anyone on the line, calling from empty rooms. Elevators, perhaps portals, operate independently between floors without passengers. Windows at the inn reveal more than views of the sea, glimpses of ghostly apparitions. Hoping we get sightings for our own wicked good memories!
On Sunday after yoga & yummy breakfast in the suite, adventurers can decide on visiting some of the local sights, a nature preserve, a lighthouse, and/or slip into spa time.
Don’t miss out on a spooktacular lux adventure in Cape Elizabeth that includes a happy hour, vegetarian dinner and breakfast, a yoga practice or two, ghost searches, outdoor excursions, and tons of positive energy!
Cost: $550/total for two adventurers sharing king or queen; $350/solo king or queen
Payment is accepted via Venmo @maineyogaadventures_ or pay by credit card below.

Spain Adventure: Vino y Tapas
Sold out - thanks adventurers!
Wine lovers & foodies, you’ll not want to miss this culturally immersive adventure to Spain! We’ll briefly be exploring the historical city of Madrid before heading north to the heart of Spanish wine country and renowned stop on the Camino de Santiago, Logroño, La Rioja. Pushing north, we’ll explore the Basque Country with stops in Bilbao and the breathtaking Cantabrian sea coast, all while exploring a few other hidden gems with plenty of yoga interspersed. Taylor Mateo Ashley Prado, of Lilia’s Cuban Cafe, will be our guide, as he spent the last year living in Logroño and has roots in northern Spain.
The adventure begins on Tuesday, March 10th in the capital city of Madrid, a city rich in art, history, and cultural heritage. We’ll shake off our jet lag with a guided walking tour of the historic center before settling into our apartment.
Adventurers will stay in the lively Malasaña neighborhood in the heart of Madrid in a spacious four bedroom apartment. From the balconies, Calle Epsorito Santo, a vibrant street with a unique atmosphere can be seen. We’ll have the perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings; a short walk from Gran Via and Plaza Mayor.
For our first full day in Spain we’ll practice yoga in the gardens of the Royal Palace of Madrid then we’ll get a taste of what’s to come with cuisine originating in Asturias, one of Spain’s gastronomic hubs. With a full belly, we’ll enjoy a siesta or some downtime. Afterwards, there are two options to take in amazing artwork either at El Prado (classical art) or La Reina Sofia (impressionism). Dinner will be delicious and underground in a cave.
Thursday will be a beautiful and relaxing drive to La Rioja with yoga and a picnic at a historic monastery tucked in the mountains. To cap off our first night in northern Spain, we’ll delight in a hidden national treasure, pintxos on Calle Laurel.
Adventurers will stay in a spacious four bedroom holiday home in the historic walled city center along the banks of the majestic Ebro River. We’ll be within steps of the Camino de Santiago, the historic cathedral, and the wine and gastronomic hub of the region.
Friday will be epic, as we’ll take on a wine tour of the Rioja region by visiting historic, modern, and family run wineries, specializing in different styles of Spanish wine. After a much needed siesta, we’ll begin the weekend on the right foot with a night out dancing!
On Saturday, we’ll enjoy walking the Camino de Santiago to a park on the outskirts of town. Afterwards, we’ll head back to town to enjoy traditional Riojana cuisine at La Platería. In the evening, we’ll keep things chill and creative with a locally facilitated art class by Pangea Studio Creativo.
For Sunday, we’re hitting the road to the northern coast of the Basque Country! Along the way, we’ll visit the world renowned Guggenheim in Bilbao, enjoy pintxos in the historic Plaza Nueva, then be blown away by a coastal hike to Gaztelugatxe, trust us, just Google it.
For our final full day in Spain, we’ll soak in the natural thermal baths in the river in Arnedillo. Then we’ll feast in the eclectic Taberna Bizarra, deep in a cave with incredible locally sourced cuisine. On our way back, we’ll pick up some “shoe-venirs” from stores featuring locally crafted footwear, before stopping by the Clavijo Castle which overlooks Logroño and the surrounding towns. We’d be missing out without stopping one last time to Calle Laurel to enjoy our favorite pintxos and wines, ensuring these memories will live forever in our hearts.
The next day, we’ll hit the road for the airport in Madrid, a bittersweet end to an unforgettable trip!
The adventure in Spain includes daily yoga, 7 nights accommodations, travel in country, breakfasts & dinners, excursions listed in the itinerary, an experienced guide, good vibes & great people…

Iceland Solar Eclipse Adventure
Click on the words in italics & bold below for more details…
MYA is coming together again with AEA on an extraordinary adventure, this time it’s ICELAND. Yes, we’ve been there before (three times!) but this is different, very different, very exciting!
Iceland is undoubtedly a force of nature, a unique landscape -- and this year, it will be home to a total solar eclipse! To see the moon pass between the sun and the earth, blocking out the sun completely will be an awesome moment that we will indulge in together. The sky will darken and we’ll sink into a surreal space. Please note, this is not an everyday experience, this is a once in a lifetime event where people across the globe will gather and soak in the cosmic energies.
Join a MYA to hike along waterfalls, practice yoga perched on volcanic coastal cliffs, and view the eclipse from a lava field in the Reykjanes peninsula. You'll explore the intricacies of Reykjavik too, hearing folk stories from your guide and learning about what makes the local people and culture so truly unique. And, of course, enjoy yoga practices throughout your journey. Beginners welcome! Please check out the ITINERARY for the full wondrous details.
The founder of Maine Yoga Adventures, Holly Twining, will accompany the group and lead an optional daily morning yoga practice on each day of the trip, so you can start each day with mindfulness and clarity. We will likely get additional yoga practices in throughout the trip, especially when we find ourselves in a magical natural setting (easy to find in Iceland).
Please note: airfare is not included. Upon booking, we will recommend a direct flight from Boston to Reykjavik airport so the group can fly together. Please refrain from booking your flight until the trip is confirmed with the minimum number of participants (tba).
Includes Local Guide/Coordinator with 24/7 Support for the duration of the program, accommodations, transportation (driver), activities & excursions in the itinerary, daily yoga, breakfasts, travel health insurance, and lots of positive energy.
Cost: $3880; twin occupancy, 2 adventurers sharing a room; $4535/single occupancy, private room
