Join Maine Yoga Adventures on a close-to-Halloween spooky adventure! Adventurers will enjoy haunted hiking, creepy painting creating, and indulging in eerie edibles...
Begin the adventure on beautiful Silver Lake Trails in Bucksport. An outdoor yoga practice will happen simultaneously with a haunted hike, stretching and breathing every step of the way.
As Aislinn Sarnacki reports via the Bangor Daily News, our locale is "a 67-acre park that features 2 miles of community trails that lead to the shores of Silver Lake, which is said to be haunted by a certain ghost - the ghost of Sarah Ware."
This may not be an ordinary ghostly encounter because this is not just any ghost. This unfortunate gal was murdered in 1898 - when placed in her coffin, her head fell off. Spooky! Foul play indeed!
If Sarah's headless body is still buried at the cemetery that is now submerged by the lake, she may not be completely at rest. Her spirit may be restless and haunting the area. Searching for her head? Searching for her murderer? Sarah's ghost has allegedly been spotted on foggy nights - perhaps adventurers will get a chance to meet her.
Following the haunted hike, head to downtown Orono for Halloween inspired eats and drinks at the Black Bear Brewery. This popular gathering place is the perfect setting to come together for ghost stories whilst eating yummy food and testing yummy brews as well!
Adventurers will satiate their appetites then get creative juices flowing with a special spooktacular art lesson by local painter, Laura Manzo, who has taken over for Travis Baker who was called away to LA. We'll use driftwood as the canvas and give this lovely painting a try!
Cost: $55/adult adventurers; Kiddos come for free (if they dare, tee hee!)
