Get in on a last minute adventure that will get you outside under the moon then inside cozy and warm!
Depending on the weather, adventurers will use fat bikes, cross-country skis or snowshoes to get them into the fields for sweet moon views and snowga. Adventurers will meet either at Rose Bike in Orono (if plus tires and/or fat bikes are the way to go!) or at the UMAINE rec center lot (if your preference is skis or snowshoes).
University Forest trails are beautiful as night falls and the moon rises with snow brightening the way. Dense tree-lined trails open out to a gorgeous field perfect for gathering. Two nights before the super/wolf moon, we'll honor the big moon and the outdoors with yoga in the snow - beginners always welcome!
The Black Bear Brewery will be our destination following outside fun. If you simply want in on that part of the adventure, sure! MYA will provide hot & hearty soup for adventurers and a beer from the outstanding brewery varietals.
Nitty gritty details will come to adventurers on Friday once we get a sense of the weather and trail conditions. MYA has ethical standards to uphold as a community trail user and best practices apply. Adventurers will come with their own equipment as well as with a light source as the sky grows darker to ensure safety. If an adventurer would like to borrow some equipment - I'm sure with our generous community, we could make something happen!
