MYA will be using the yurt’s kitchen space to whip up tasty vegetarian dinners and breakfasts. Lunches will be open to adventurers and most likely up to where our adventures take us, either in town or on the slopes or at the yurt. Leftovers are usually an option too!
Saturday and Sunday will be snowga and ski fundays! No worries about snowga, it’s just yoga in the snow (usually with snowshoes), experience is not a necessity. A sense of humor is best as well as snowpants on the looser side! We can partner for balancing postures, always a hoot. No worries if you don’t have snowshoes, MYA can help.
On Saturday after breakfast and snowga on the beautiful landscape, we’ll head to the Nordic Heritage Center, less than 20 minutes away. The NHC, a jewel in the crown of Maine, embodies the best of Aroostook County: a place of incomparable beauty. The center offers up snowshoe and cross-country ski rentals. If you have your own skis and snowshoes, bring them along. You can choose the activity that you’re most comfortable with, just being outside in nature should bring on therapeutic goodness. And, there’s a sauna, let’s hope that it’ll be open to warm us up!
MYA has really enjoyed NHC in season’s past, the trail network is expansive and heavenly, so nicely maintained. This is a wonderful organization that MYA is proud to support and will offer up a portion of the adventure proceeds to their cause.
