MYA is returning to the 100-Mile Wilderness to hike glorious Borestone Mountain with 360 degrees of foliage views, picnic at Big Wilson Falls, and enjoy Oktoberfest at Turning Page Farm…
Our group will carpool and meet up at the Borestone Mountain trailhead and hike into the sanctuary which encompasses more than 1,600 acres in Maine's Hundred Mile Wilderness region. This area of blissful hiking offers a spectacular array of natural features, including rare older forest, crystalline ponds, exposed granite crags, and sweeping panoramic views.
From the nature center at Sunrise Pond, adventurers will head to the summit on a moderately strenuous climb that culminates in spectacular views from two peaks at nearly 2,000 feet. This hike is just about 4 miles round trip. The work is worth it!
After a bit of Borestone Mountain summit yoga and some snacking, we’ll hike down enjoying more beauty along the way. We’ll then take a quick ride to Big Wilson Falls. Adventurers will be able to take in several lovely falls with no hiking required. MYA will present a yummy vegetarian picnic and if the weather is just right, we’ll dip our feet in.
We’ll be getting in more fun on this Saturday as we head to Turning Page Farm for their Oktoberfest! There will be music, goats, and beer, what could be better?!? MYA will cover one beer but the rest is up to you :)
