Join MYA for a layered Wisconsin adventure, cheesy, nature inspired, and citified. We’ll start in beautiful Door County staying in a lovely abode with plenty of hiking at our fingertips, stunning views, beach strolls under a sky full of stars, and farmers market fresh food. Adventurers will also get a taste of Milwaukee, “Cream City”, for two nights at a seriously fun pad, taking in the historic third ward, riverwalk, art museum, preserves & parks, and more!
Experience tranquil beauty inside and out at our stunning four bedroom waterfront home. With elegant living space, picture windows, and a private Lake Michigan shoreline, this will be the perfect spot to relax, yogify, and enjoy each other’s company (and food!). Two outdoor dining areas and a grill will help make the magic happen. We can listen to the lake’s waves and stargaze by the fire pit to ease our minds and unwind. If need be, we can luxuriate around the indoor fireplace as well. There’s a beautiful jetted tub to enjoy if adventurers are willing to share :)
Our outdoor explorations will be seemingly endless with so many nature preserves, sanctuaries, and state parks to hike. Schauer Park and Cave Point County Park, and Whitefish Dunes State Park are within walking distance and The Ridges Sanctuary, Eagle Tower, Open Door Bird Sanctuary, The Farm, and Peninsula State Park are all within 15 miles. Newport State Park will be the perfect dark sky locale to see the stars. Rest assured, there will be plenty of eye candy to take in. There’s even a good chance of us catching the northern lights, lets keep our fingers crossed for viewing the wondrous dance through the sky!
When in Wisconsin, if you’re not vegan, it’s not if you’ll eat something cheesy; it’s when. We must partake in the most coveted culinary gem to come out of the dairy state, cheese curds. While they are delightful fresh, fried cheese curds are definitely on the list as well as a locally brewed cold one all of that salty, cheesy goodness. Door County has deep roots in craft brewing with many breweries to choose from. Word is we’ll have to stop in for pancakes at a unique Swedish restaurant in Sister Bay, let’s just say, there are traditional costumes and goats!
From the peninsula we’ll head to the city of Milwaukee where we’ll stay in a wicked cool funky house located in the historic Walker’s Point neighborhood, giving us a great central base to explore the city’s rich history, its German brewing culture, walkable streets, its vibrant food scene, and of course natural areas. This pink beauty has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a private patio. Nearby is Miller Park, the Eisner Museum, Milwaukee Institute Of Art And Design, and Skylight Music Theatre. The airport is only five miles away.
