Give yourself the perfect gift, join MYA for a festive hexmas weekend adventure in Salem, Massachusetts. A bit of spookiness mixed in with holiday fabulousness! Adventurers will take in the sights of the sweet city bathed in holiday lights and window dressings with some dark history underlying the magic. Sign up quick, MYA is purchasing tickets for Fezziwig’s Ball before they run out!

We’ll settle in on Friday eve, flexible arrival time, into our lovely private home close to all of the downtown attractions. The charming colonial style home was built in 1838 and has seven bedrooms and four bathrooms, plenty of space for adventurers. The old home has its creaks and groans, and there may be a touch of paranormal activity. MYA will show nothing but respect to the spirits that share the space with us; please note that they are not malevolent.

An MYA cook will prepare a delicious vegetarian dinner then we’ll stroll into the night, adventurers can decide if they’d like to get in on a ghosts of Christmas past haunted holiday tour or simply wander on their own. There are plenty of cool shops to nab some presents for a loved one or yourself :)

In the morning, breakfast will be served after a yoga session - we’ll try to get in some stretches on Friday eve as well. More roaming is to be had, we’ll learn about the witch trials, take in historical spaces, explore the harbor, the woods, and beaches. Danvers, formerly known as Salem Village, is truly the site of the 1692 witch trials so we may venture there as well.

Saturday night is sure to be memorable, MYA is headed to Fezziwig's Ball! We’ll join the Commonwealth Vintage Dancers for a recreation of the ball from A Christmas Carol. Learn historically accurate dancing, enjoy marvelous period music played live, and indulge in delicious refreshments in a festive ballroom. Please bring along a costume from the lifetime of Charles Dickens, 1812 to 1871, or modern formal wear (please check out your local thrift store). All dances will be taught and are highly participatory, yippppeee!

Sunday will begin the same, with a lovely breakfast and yoga. Adventurers can decide to stick around or head back home. There is limited space on the Salem trolley with The Gallows Hill Theatre presenting A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens - sadly, they were already sold out for Friday & Saturday. Please let MYA know if you’re interested, the trolley is at 3:15pm and the show is one hour & 15 min.

Don’t miss out on a unique holiday adventure in Salem, Massachusetts as we squeeze out as much frivolity and wonder as we possibly can with a small dose of ghostly magic!
