Catamount Family Center has classic and skate groomed trails through woods and dale, with stunning vistas and a 4 km lighted night loop. If you don’t nordic ski bring along your snowshoes, we’ll be using them anyway for snowga :)

Canceled: Outdoorsy Soaking & Skiing Santas Adventure

Sadness, had to cancel this adventure but hoping to get to the wonderful adventure house in Bethel sometime in the future :)

MYA is headed to Western Maine for some wicked fun, we’ll get in lots of outside time, relaxation in the hot tub, yoga, yummy eats, and skiing in your best Santa outfit! If we get some early snow (fingers crossed!), we’ll partake in snowtastic activities of snowga and cross-country skiing; if not, we can enjoy the hiking in the area which is fabulous. The final frolic will be downhill skiing at Sunday River if you’re up for it…

Friday afternoon/evening arrival time is flexible, there will be a happy hour and MYA will be offering up yummy vegetarian soup and more whenever the time is right. If you need to come late, no worries, we’ll feed you :) Adventurers have a private home to lounge and relax in; the 1870 farm home is in the heart of downtown Bethel with 4 bedrooms that sleep 12 comfortably with 2 bathrooms. A fav amenity is the hot tub which adventurers can indulge in whenever they like.

We can experience all that the sweet small town has to offer just minutes away from the home. We’ll be close to Gould Academy which makes for a very nice, walkable neighborhood with many surrounding farm-style residences; our prime location is very close to the local grocery store and numerous delightful restaurants.

Once we get closer and know what the weather holds, adventurers can decide to bring along your cross-country skis (definitely downhill skis or a snowboard) or snowshoes and get on the trails about a 15 minute walk away. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in Bethel is lovely, the fat biking trails may be groomed as well. Adventurers can even pop over to Carter’s Cross-Country Ski Center for more beautiful trails. If you need gear, please let MYA know. Don’t forget your sense of humor, your best snowsuit, and your best Santa suit!

After a yoga practice, a delicious breakfast, and outdoors activities on Saturday, folks can head into town for some free time or hang in the hot tub or cozy up on the couch. MYA will be handling a second vegetarian dinner in the evening.

Sundayfunday we’ll get up early for breakfast and yoga, and head out to Sunday River in Newry, just a ten minute drive. In full Santa attire (red Santa hat with white pompom, red Santa jacket, red Santa pants and Santa beard), we will celebrate the arrival of winter and the upcoming holiday season with more than 250 Santas cruising down to South Ridge! All money raised benefits the River Fund, a non-profit organization that supports youth education and recreation in the Bethel area. MYA will register adventurers ahead of time (open Nov 28th so please be sure to register for this adventure well in advance).

Adventurers will be sure to show up at the scheduled photo shoot at 11am, slopeside at South Ridge all dressed up. After the photo shoot, we will all go up South Ridge Express and then ski down Broadway, a beginner-friendly green trail. After the parade down Broadway, your ticket can get validated for the rest of the day and will receive an additional lift ticket valid until Christmas Eve. Super excited, MYA has always wanted to get in on the Santa Sunday!

Don’t miss out on this crazy fun, yummy, relaxing weekend in beautiful Bethel and beyond. If you’d like to come but want to opt out of the downhill Santa portion, no worries, there will be lots of quality adventuring time without it and you can always watch Santas coming down the mountain from the bottom :)

Cost: $400, includes two nights accommodations, two vegetarian dinners & breakfasts, happy hour, daily yoga, snowga, hot tubbing, night strolling, Santa Sunday, good vibes, great company

To register, please choose to add to cart below or payment is available via VENMO (@maineyogaadventures_) or a good ol’ check in the mail :)

Please be sure to check out MYA’s cancellation policy - thanks.

Beachside Surf Adventure *postponed

Canceled my friends, we’ll try for next year🙏

Join MYA on lovely beach in Southern Maine for a weekend adventure with sweet inn accommodations, surf lessons, hiking, strolling, yummy food, plenty of yoga, and more…

We’ll be spending the weekend at the fab Higgins Beach Inn, a boutique experience literally steps away from the surf, the unspoiled, sandy shore of Higgins Beach. Nestled between historic Prouts Neck and the sandy beaches of Crescent Beach State Park in a quiet Maine coastal community approximately 7 miles south of Portland, and 110 miles north of Boston, the inn is a Maine beach hotel and three story colonial revival structure whose origin dates back to 1897. The rooms offer up peaceful and warm ambiance with a light and airy beachy feel, perfect for adventurers.

Very limited space! MYA is looking for adventurers willing to share. There are only three bedrooms available with one queen bed in each with the possibility of adding in a cot to each room. This doesn’t mean that you have to come as a couple; whoever would like to share with you, friends, family, an acquaintance, it all works!

Arrival time is flexible, adventurers can come early to hike and play in the area or wait until dinnertime, no worries either way. MYA will set up a happy hour & yummy vegetarian dinner for all. We can get in some evening yoga on the beach and watch the fabulous sunset.

In the morning, we’ll enjoy breakfast at the inn, omelettes, french toast, bagels, whatever suits your fancy. After a pause to digest, adventurers will take on the Legendary Cliff Walk, about a 90 minute trek roundtrip along the shoreline’s magnificent cliffs. Every turn on this walk leads to one breathtaking landscape after another. I’ve heard it’s very tricky to find but definitely worth it.

MYA will lay out some lunchtime snacks then we’re either getting into our surf lesson or saving it for Sunday. Flexibility and weather is key, we’ll get to hit the surf (with full wetsuits!) no matter what. Adventurers will have the best surf instruction around with Black Point Surf Shop - no experience necessary - we’ll have a talented pro guiding us the whole way thru. Coming highly recommended and in full support of local talent, craftsmen and woodworkers right here in Maine, Black Point showcases surfboards and paddle boards made at the shop and those crafted by fellow cold water surfers.

We’ll get in another session of sunset yoga on the beach to stretch out after our session of surfing and/or after a day of strolling/hiking. After nice warm showers at the inn, dinner will be up to adventurers - we could grab food and eat at the inn or have dinner out at a local restaurant that’s within walking distance or a very short drive.

We’ll have more of super tasty Higgins Beach Inn breakfast to get our Sundayfunday started and then we’ll see what magic the day holds - definitely more yoga! Please know that the yoga practices are accessible for everyone, no experience necessary. If we’ve already gotten in our surf lesson, there are plenty of pretty local hikes to explore such as Fort Williams Park w/ the Portland Head Light and more lounging & relaxing at the inn before checkout is a no brainer :)

Don’t miss out on a super fun beach inspired autumn weekend full of yoga, yummy food, getting outside all different ways, sweet accommodations for two nights, tasty breakfasts & happy hours, a homemade MYA dinner, and more…

Cost: $600/sharing queen bed or enjoying your own cot

Ice Castles, Skiing & Wicked Resort Vibing Adventure

MYA is going to Lincoln, NH to do all the things! We’ll be visiting glowing ice castles, skiing (cross-country and/or downhill), snowshoeing, practicing snowga, ice skating, hot tubbing, pool swimming, sledding, vegetarian food eating, and so much more…

Arrival time is flexible, we’ll begin our adventure by settling into our majestic accommodations. Adventurers will be staying in two suites at the super fab Riverwalk Resort (Holly has stayed there with her boys and fell in love with it!); it is jam-packed with all of the fun wintertime necessities. We’ll have a full kitchen (2) for homemade soups, balconies for daydreaming, and full access to an indoor hot tub, an outdoor hot tub, an outdoor heated pool, an ice rink, a firepit, fitness center, a spa if you’d like to partake in more self-care, and we’re steps away from an awesome brewery and a short drive to a winery.

Friday night we’ll enjoy happy hour with appetizers & wine and when the time is right, we’ll settle into a delicious vegetarian dinner. We can pop outdoors for a snowga session (yoga in the snow) before heading to sleep. Of course we’ll find time for skating & hot tubbing! Other than a set time for a visit to the Ice Castles on Saturday, adventurers can decide if they want a wicked active adventure or want a laid back adventure.

Saturday morning will begin with a wholesome breakfast to prepare adventurers for the day. This day can be an opportunity to hit Loon Mountain for either downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, or tubing. Adventurers can purchase their downhill skiing tickets online ahead of time for possible discounts. Snowshoeing is another option that is close by and gorgeous in the area. The Lincoln Woods Trail is a local favorite, 2.6-mile out-and-back trail, that is built on a former logging railway that runs along the riverbed. The trail is gently inclined, great for beginners. Maybe you just want to chill more in the hot tubs and heated pool :)

No matter what, we’ll all come back together to eat yummy vegetarian food before heading out for nighttime revelry - a visit to the Ice Castles! Adventurers will explore icy layers and tunnels in a cool version of Frozen. The castles are enshrouded in an aurora borealis and lit from within in a rainbow of colors. Let’s get in some yoga with the ice!

We can definitely stroll over to the brewery for a pint on our way ‘home’. There is a trail alongside the river that we can access for a sweet walk or a quickie nighttime ski, don’t forget your headlamp!

Post yummy eats in the morn, Sunday funday can be adventurer’s choice as well. In the past we’ve checked out Franconia Notch State Park and loved snowshoeing in to see The Flume, a super cool site of flowing water and thick ice and snow. If you need to get in some wintertime ziplining, Alpine Zipline is the place you may want to check out to book ahead of time. Another terrific option that MYA had an excellent time at is the White Mountain Bike Shop where you can cross-country ski, snowshoe, fat bike, and/or go sledding. The passes are very affordable and well worth it. No matter what, we’ll be getting in yoga practices in our boots, in our snowshoes, or even inside, let’s wait and see what the weather holds (lots of snow!).

Space is limited but MYA will get more rooms if more adventurers would like to stay & play! Don’t miss out on a yoga adventure in the beautiful White Mountains with lots of wintertime playtime…

Western Mountains: Hike, Paint & Soak Weekend Adventure

Get in on a last-minute weekend adventure with MYA to the mountains of Western Maine for a stay in a gorgeous home in Newry. Adventurers will get in plenty of hiking, yoga, hot tub soaking, vegetarian food, painting, wine sipping and chit chatting - we didn’t make it to Germany but we can make some magic happen! …

Please know that the arrival time is flexible, whatever works best for you! Our private home is both lux and comfortable with an open concept kitchen, living, dining area with cathedral ceilings and plenty of space for everyone. Mountain views are in plain sight while dining and relaxing with floor to ceiling panoramic windows. The massive stone gas fireplace offers ambiance and a warm cozy space.

The chefs kitchen has upgraded appliances and is fully equipped with everything to prepare vegetarian gourmet meals. The lower level is designed for MYA, the young at heart and mind! The game room area has a Foosball table as well as a 3 game table plus several board games. There is a bar table perfect for enjoying a snack and beverage. A custom built in fire place and huge sectional seating will be perfect for our gathering.

The master bedroom has a king with private bath with a jetted tub, there’s a queen bedroom as well on the main floor. The upper level offers up a bedroom with a king bed and another bedroom with double bunks. Downstairs is the bunk room with six bunk twins.

Outdoors, adventurers will enjoy the 6-8 person Bullfrog hot tub featuring waterfall and multiple jet and seating options (yessss!).

Please know that you can go at your own pace on this adventure, if you’d like to chill at the house and/or choose to drive to Bethel for a slow stroll thru town no problem, if you need to take on some serious elevation, that can happen as well.

There are some amazing hikes in the Newry area from the beauties in Grafton Notch State Park (MYA has only been there deep in the wintertime) such as Old Speck Trail, Moose Cave Gorge, Mother Walker Falls Gorge, and Step Falls which includes a long series of steep cascades and chutes with a total drop of 135 feet. There is a short hike up the right side of the falls (Wight Brook), which tumbles down a series of boulders and step-like ledges. We might want to bring along our bathing suits and play in the pools!

Another terrific hiking option in the park is Table Rock Loop Trail, a moderate hike compared to the other hikes in the park. Table Rock is 900 feet above the trailhead and offers fantastic views of Old Speck Mountain, the Eyebrow, and Grafton Notch. Island Weekender: Monhegan Adventure

Sold out - thanks adventurers!

Join MYA on a fabulous excursion to Monhegan Island for forest & cliffside hiking, yoga outdoors, crazy good sunsets & sunrises, sweet accommodations, yummy food, birding, nighttime explorations and more. This adventure has very limited space, please secure your spot as soon as possible - thank you!

Adventurers will ferry across the ocean from Port Clyde to the island watching sea birds and seals along the way. Let’s hope for sweet calm weather and good visibility on the water! For Friday’s departure, you can decide whether you can make the 10:30am boat but if you can’t make it til the 3pm departure, no worries, we’ll be there to welcome you with open arms!

Upon arrival we’ll check into our accommodations at the historic and quite charming Island Inn that dates from 1816, when it was known as the Pink House. The inn sits atop a bluff looking over Monhegan Harbor, the perfect spot to reveal a dramatic seaside sunset after island explorations.

We’ll drop off our bags inside the hotel and MYA will spread out a yummy vegetarian picnic lunch on the expansive grounds. Afterwards, we’ll hit the trails - Monhegan Island has awesome pathways thru dense woods that lead out to cliffs. Adventurers will take it slow, breathing in the beauty, taking in the natural world in all its complexities and colorations. An exploration of the lighthouse and the views from it on all sides will happen as well as intermittent yoga flows whenever the time seems right.

We’ll follow up our hiking with a bit of free time lounging and taking in the beauty surrounding us. Adventurers can take a stroll thru the picturesque village, perhaps visiting the local brewery, and flipping thru a summertime paperback novel in an adirondack chair before watching the sun sink.

Dinner will be up to adventurers, we can pick from a couple of island restaurants or grab some items from the grocery store and whip something up ourselves. If you like an early bedtime, well, off you go to your sweet room in the hotel. A nighttime hike is also an option or a stroll around town or a simple chill out session on the lawn.

Sunrise is at 4:55am if you’re an early bird and you’d like to check out the rise over the water :) Later in the morning adventurers can enjoy a bird walk as we slowly make our way around the island. We can get in a yoga practice then settle into breakfast. The hotel lovingly prepares the food for us and it is absolutely scrumptious! Adventurers can get in another sightseeing day - let’s get out there and explore.

MYA will whip up a lunch for adventurers and then it’s more fun just like the night before. Perhaps we can change up where we get our dinnertime eats from. Hopefully the night sky will be perfect for stargazing.

Sundayfunday morning will bring birding again if adventurers are up for it and we’ll have to check out of our wonderful inn. Adventurers are welcome to take the 12:30pm or 4:30pm boat back to the mainland :) Remember, our luggage can be held whilst we go gaze at the sea.

Don’t miss out on quality island time, slow down and be in the moment surrounded by ocean supported by the land.

Skiing & Snowga: Adventuring to The County

MYA is headed up to northern Maine, aka the county, for a fabulous weekend of snowshoeing, snowga, skiing both ways, yummy vegetarian food, and more…

This adventure can be split up - adventurers can decide to come on Saturday or Sunday or can choose the full weekend (the whole shebang!). Both days we’ll be enjoying yoga in the snow, snowshoeing, and skiing! We had such a great time playing outside in the snow last year, MYA couldn’t resist a return to the county for more fun!

For Saturday’s skiing pleasure, we’ll hit Big Rock Mountain for a downhill experience in Mars Hill. MYA is happy to support a small Maine local ski establishment - the staff is great and the trails are awesome. We really had a blast on the mountain last season and are hoping for another great time.

MYA will cover lift tickets for adventurers that are into it. If you’re a beginner, no worries, it’s a great spot to learn or to get ski legs back that haven’t been on a mountain in years. Please know if you’d like to adventure without going downhill, that’s no problem, tubing is an option as well :)

Following alpine fabulousness, we’ll head to Aroostook State Park for hot chocolate, yummy eats and snowga! Adventurers can also decide to hit the trails with snowshoes or cross-country skis for a quickie excursion before either heading home or heading to downtown Presque Isle. MYA will check in to the charming Northeastland Hotel, set apart from chain hotels with its vibrant and rich history. Adventurers will be in their own private rooms with all covid protocols in place.

For Sunday’s adventuring, we’ll head to the Nordic Heritage Center, about 20 minutes away from downtown Presque Isle. The NHC, a jewel in the crown of Maine, embodies the best of Aroostook County: a place of incomparable beauty…

nordic3.jpg

The center offers up snowshoe and cross-country ski rentals. If you have your own skis and snowshoes, bring them along and if you want to try fat bikes on the trails, that’s another fun way to indulge in the snow. You can absolutely choose the activity that you’re most comfortable with, just being outside in nature should bring on therapeutic goodness.

And, of course we’ll get in some snowga! MYA really enjoyed NHC last season, the trails were heavenly, so nicely maintained. This is another wonderful organization that MYA is proud to support and will offer up a portion of the adventure proceeds to their cause.

Don’t miss out on a fantastic weekend adventure opting outside in a beautiful place! Bring all of your wintertime gear and we’ll make some magic happen…

Cost: $100/daylong adventure w/ skiing and/or snowshoeing, snowga, vegetarian food, good vibes

$300/whole shebang (including everything above + accommodations); $500/whole shebang for two

To register, please choose to add to cart below or payment is available via VENMO or a good ol’ check in the mail :)

Snowga & Splendor: Historic Inn Adventure

Sold out :) Thanks adventurers!

Join MYA for a super cool overnight adventure in Searsport at the historic Captain Nickels Inn - yes, we will have the whole inn to ourselves! Adventurers will get in plenty of snowga (yoga in the snow, please let there be lots of snow!), hiking, maybe fat biking & skiing, and lounging lazily about soaking in the splendor of the inn with delicious food & drink. This will be one of those adventures where you can choose to do all the things or do as little as possible in a beautiful place :)

Travis & Holly had such a fabulous time at the inn that it became a must-do adventure for MYA…

Our adventure will begin on Sears Island not far from the inn. Depending on the weather, adventurers can decide if they’d like to tackle it on plus-tire bikes or fat bikes (MYA can hook you up with a rental) or hiking or a bit of both.

Sears Island is one of the largest undeveloped islands on the Eastern Seaboard, rich in wild beauty with dazzling views of the water. There are sandy and cobbled beaches, dunes, rugged cliffs and ledges, diverse forests and wetlands, streams and gullies, abundant plants and animals, and a rich cultural heritage dating back thousands of years.

Holly and her family have made many visits in the summertime and she’s looking forward to a wintertime experience :)

Adventurers will enjoy hot chocolate and snacks post island playtime then head to beautiful Belfast for a visit along pathways and the footbridge for some yoga stretches. Before leaving town we’ll stroll along the harbor pausing for a beverage at a fav local watering hole, the Marshall Wharf Brewing Company.

Ahhhh then the anticipation will be eased as we enter Captain Nickels Inn surrounded by warmth, luxury and historical splendor. Here we will get cozy in our private rooms and deeply relax (or prance happily around the grounds). All of the rooms have their own unique design and special sweetness based upon the cities that are their namesakes.

Adventurers will enjoy a vegetarian dinner lovingly prepared by MYA and followed up by plenty of entertaining evening options of cocktail sipping & storytelling, stargazing, snowga, listening to the sea, playing cards/board games, reading by the fire…

The morning will bring a delicious breakfast served up by the extraordinary innkeepers, a dynamic duo, a mother daughter team. Adventurers will be fully prepped for a magical Sundayfunday. Our adventure will continue onwards to Camden Hills State Park for a winter hike, or bike or ski whatever the group fancies; whatever the weather is serving up will help us decide :) Close by is Moose Point State Park which is also a great stand by for wintertime fun. Again, the more snow, the better as far as MYA is concerned!

Don’t miss out - there’s limited space on this fabulous inn adventure jam-packed with wintertime fun!

Cost: $300/solo adventurer; $500/couple adventuring

To register, please choose to add to cart below or payment is available via VENMO or a good ol’ check in the mail :)

Tumbledown Mtn Adventure: Hiking, Beer & Alpacas

Join MYA for a multi-layered adventure as we hike Tumbledown Mountain, visit a beer garden and alpacas, and of course get in some yoga practices and eat yummy food. We may even get in some kayaking and/or canoeing…

Adventurers will meet at the trailhead for Tumbledown Mountain in Franklin. We’ll head up to the magnificent summit and go for a quick dip in the pond :) No worries about the pace of the hike, we will take our time but please know that this is a moderate to advanced hike and there will be plenty of rock scrambling both up and down the mountain. We’ll be hiking on both the Brook Trail and Parker Ridge Trail.

Post-hike adventurers can settle into their rooms at the Wilson Lake Inn and take a much deserved break. We’ll enjoy the lovely grounds and sweet views of Wilson Lake with the mountains in the distance. This may be the perfect time to get in a gentle outdoor yoga practice, lots of stretching, lots of deep breathing. If adventurers are up for it before eating a delish vegetarian dinner presented by MYA (hopefully the weather will be cooperative and we can dine outdoors), we’ll get out on the water for paddling fun. The sunset is gorgeous on the lake and the stars may be in view for nighttime adventuring.

The adventure continues on Sunday funday as we join the noon o’clock or so lunchtime at The Farmhouse Beer Garden in Farmington. MYA is happy to buy adventurers a beverage :) After imbibing, chit chatting and eats we’ll visit the Just Alpacas Farm which happens to be extremely close to the beer garden. We’ll get a chance to meet the alpacas and enjoy some farm animal therapy. Alpaca feeding and petting is definitely good for the soul!
