Beach Yoga & Bioluminescence Adventure

Join MYA in beautiful Castine, Maine for an outdoor yoga, good eats and kayaking at night adventure.

Adventurers will meet up at Fort Madison. The group will stroll thru the grass and along the shoreline enjoying some yoga sequences along the way. Beginners welcome. Penobscot Bay is beautiful and calm and oh so good for the soul!

We’ll travel along Perkins Street as we make our way to Dyce Head Lighthouse popping into a local garden or two. Sweet trails in the woods await adventurers with cool views of the water from above. The pace will be slow as to soak in the natural world.

Adventurers will take a break, picnic style, for delicious food from the Orono Farmer’s Market. MYA will pick up fresh yummies in the morning to serve them up in the afternoon - local and in direct support of small farms. There’s a terrific humus to try, breads, and of course, super good veggies. Dark chocolate will also make an appearance!

As nighttime creeps closer, we’ll move onto the water with Castine Kayak Adventures founder Karen Francoeur. Adventurers will take the kayaks out into Castine Harbor, Penobscot Bay, and soak in a Bioluminescent Night Paddle. Karen will lead us to the glow in the dark phytoplankton in the water and to an awareness of the stars, the constellations, in the night sky. Adventurers will definitely be able to take this nighttime knowledge and apply it to summer skies in their backyards and beyond.
