Canceled - Deer Isle Weekend Adventure

  • Private Residence Fire Road #31D Deer Isle, Maine (map)

So sorry but the renters were not renting this season - look for an alternative celebration adventure - paddleboarding & prosecco!

Celebrate! MYA will officially be five years old on July 25th during this adventure! yessss…prosecco and birthday cake :)

Come and explore the beauty of nature in Deer Isle with MYA! Nestled into the sweetest cove where our weekend abode is perched, the water just steps away, the sunsets will arrive dramatic and stunning. Adventurers will enjoy yoga, hiking, paddling, exploring, vegetarian food, campfires and more. The coastal possibilities seem endless…

Please know that your arrival time can be flexible. Holly, founder of MYA, will be there, ready and waiting. We'll get into happy hour with lovely views from the porch. Some dipping of toes in the sea and exploring the shoreline will happen as we await dinnertime lovingly prepared by an MYA cook.

Adventurers will have plenty of time for evening adventures of stargazing and storytelling. We’ll take in the night skies and outdoor fires in the pit in front of the cottage. MYA will bring the chocolate, graham crackers and vegan marshmallows! When it’s time for adventurers to sleep, you’ll find that our spot is quite secluded and you won’t hear many sounds besides the local animal critters passing through.

Saturday and Sunday will be chock full of yoga, yummy food and nature explorations. MYA will add in free time for getting out in your favorite watercraft, please bring your canoe, kayak or paddleboard. The adventure can be taken at your own pace, you can spice it up with more activities or take a relaxed approach bringing along a good book.

Please note that this will be a relatively unplugged weekend without wifi :) This is a fantastic area for hiking, birding, rock scrambling and dipping into the sea. There is a roughly one mile loop path that runs along the shoreline from the cottage which is fun no matter what time of day you head out on it.

Adventurers will have an opportunity to explore Barred Island Preserve, an easy, 1.5-mile hike through the woods ending at a gorgeous sand bar that leads to the island that is perfect for both lounging and climbing around. The temps may be nice for a quick swim as well. It is a nice spot for a picnic!

We’ll also not miss a visit to Nervous Nellie’s Jams & Jellies this season. It’s a family favorite, where you can explore the woods filled with intricate sculptures by artist Peter Beerit. There’s a gift shop with jams and jellies for sale. It’s a wicked fun and unique spot. I’m sure there will be many opportunities for photo shoots!

Inside the main cottage are four bedrooms including a queen size bed, two double beds, and a set of bunkbeds. There’s a great kitchen for socializing with a fab lounging area or two including a screened-in porch and a deck looking right out over the water.

MYA has a bunkhouse for accommodations as well (sorry without a bathroom - run to the main house, thankfully it isn’t far) with three rooms, two with double beds and one with triple bunks (cool! who knew you could triple stack!). It’ll be cozy and comfy with some great views to be had.

Don’t miss out on a fabulous coastal weekend on Deer Isle with a great crew of adventurers celebrating five years of adventuring, playing, hiking, eating, laughing, relaxing, connecting, and more!
