Fairytale Castle Weekend Adventure

  • Norumbega Inn 63 High Street Camden, Maine 04843 (map)

oh yesss MYA is finally staying at the super fab Norumberga Inn in Camden overlooking Penobscot Bay! Adventurers will spread out into our lovely comfy lux rooms and from there, anything and everything is possible! Snowga, skiing, hiking, lots of eating, bathtub soaking…

Arrival time on Friday is very flexible, if you want to come early and hang around Camden that’s great, if you can’t make it til happy hour or dinnertime, that’s ok too. We’ll be sipping wine and enjoying appetizers, simply relaxing to begin.

The Norumbega Inn, a graciously distinguished stone castle, boasts a feast for not just the body and mind but also a retreat for the soul. The inn is on the National Historic Registry having been built in 1886 with the design based on many castles in Europe. The beauty trickles over into numerous sitting areas and common spaces with lovely views out the windows. A stay at the boutique hotel is a promise to relax, indulge and enjoy.

Our four rooms are designed with thoughtful amenities have lots of character and adventurers can’t go wrong with any of them. If more adventurers want to join in the fabulousness, well, MYA will book more rooms :)

Enjoy the sparkling water views of Penobscot Bay from Warwick which features a king-size bed, a gas fireplace, and and even more views of the ocean from the balcony that's just outside your door. The bathroom has both an antique claw foot tub and a large walk-in tiled shower.

Located on the top floor, is the Penthouse Suite with panoramic views of the bay, whether sitting on the private balcony or from inside the suite itself. The spacious living area includes a mini-refrigerator and a foldout sleep sofa. The bedroom is appointed with a luxurious king-size bed and a large en suite bathroom. With its own gas fireplace, this suite is one-of-a-kind. * sorry this room is no longer available.

Versailles is a unique room with stone walls and a brick archway that becomes a personal sanctuary. Versailles also features a king-size bed and your own patio that opens up to our East Lawn. The bathroom features a tub with a shower. Arundel features a king-size, four-poster bed. One of the first things to do is run the water and just relax in the Jacuzzi tub. Or you can walk through your personal patio door onto the room's deck. *sorry, Arundel is no longer available

There are so many adventuring options in the picturesque coastal town of Camden, we can decide our favorites as a group and if something doesn’t suit your fancy, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with chilling at the inn! For the active adventurer who wants all things, there’s downhill skiing at the Snow Bowl, cross-country skiing, snowga on the inn’s property (yay!), snowshoe hiking (lots of trail possibilities), ice skating, shopping in town, and more. Bring all of your wintertime gear and if you don’t have certain items, MYA can help figure it out either via rentals or borrowing from friends :)

Norumbega Inn will be serving adventurers sumptuous amazing multi-course breakfasts! MYA will take care of Friday dinner at the inn, yes, vegetarian soup with lots of yummies to go along with it. For Saturday nite, we’ll venture out on the town and hit a local establishment (not included in the adventure cost), there are plenty of options. Two happy hours with wine, cheese and chocolate etc. are happening as well!
