Remote Paradise: Spencer Pond Adventure

  • Spencer Pond Camps Greenville, ME 04441 (map)

Join Maine Yoga Adventures for a fabulous off the grid, foliage saturated, tucked away in the wilderness, waterfront weekend! Adventurers will enjoy a cozy cabin stay in the wilderness with lots of paddling, hiking, yoga, and yummy vegetarian food…

MYA will take over the Sabotawan Lodge, a less than 50 feet from the water’s edge, private expansive space with amazing views of Little Spencer Mountain. The screened in porch will be the perfect spot for wildlife watching, birding, meditating, reading, napping, experiencing some unplugged bliss. Please know that arrival time is very flexible, whatever works for you!

We’re going without electricity but not without comfort (no need to pack your sleeping bag or cookstove!), the lodge built in 1901 is fully furnished and boasts two wood stoves, homemade quilts, a library, plenty of twin beds and bunk beds, a super cool Victrola with some very old school music to get our groove on, and a great room with a gable window for stargazing. Adventurers may want to bust into the cabin game chest for supplies to play badminton, croquet and frisbee :)

We will definitely be taking full advantage of the canoes, kayaks and mountain bikes that are available! Please know that this adventure can be as relaxing or as full of fitness as you like, a go at your own pace adventure. The foliage should be amazing at this point in the season, adventurers can feel free to go crazy with cameras, paints, sketchbooks, journals, however the spirit moves you.

A nightly campfire will be on the schedule complete with wine and/or beer sipping with spooky stories and goofy songs. The Maine night sky is going to be jaw-dropping without light pollution.

Sundayfunday will be all about a fabulous breakfast, a paddle and hitting the trails that take us beyond the property (no hunting day!). Adventurers can decide what they’re up for, there are plenty of gorgeous and dramatic options very close by. Kineo is high on the list and we don’t have to ferry over, Fourth Mountain is a 4 mile out & back with nice wildflowers, and the most challenging would be Little Spencer Mtn which is steep and rocky but still tempting.

Don’t miss out on an excursion deep into the unique and stunning Maine woods!

Cost: $300 includes all meals, delicious and vegetarian, two nights fab rustic accommodations, paddling, biking, hiking…

Massage will be a possibility too an an additional cost! :)
