Play in the Snow, Sound Bath & Sauna Adventure

Join MYA for another wonder filled collaboration with Sonic Healing Theatre to take in their vibrational sound bath & sauna. We’ll play in the snow on beautiful trails in the city forest beforehand and be sure to get in a yummy vegetarian meal as well…

Adventurers will meet up at the Bangor City Forest, putting on snowshoes or skis whichever you fancy the most. There are rentals available at Maine Bound if you’d like to pick something up ahead of time. We’ll go easy out there, no worries if you’re a beginner cross-country skier or snowshoer, just about an hour out on the trails. If there’s no snow, no worries, we’ll take a nice stroll through the forest in our wintertime boots.

We’ll follow up the outdoor fun with a truly unique full mind, body, spirit immersion into an electric sound bath where sound meets technology to create a transformative wellness experience. Upon entering, adventurers will feel the shift into a serene, meditative, and welcoming space.

The sound bath is a live performance that utilizes and amplifies world-class gongs, singing bowls, and tubular bells. We’ll recline on cozy nicely padded vibrating mats directly connected to the sound system, the waves of these magnificent instruments will flow through every cell of your body. Adventurers will recharge and rejuvenate in an hour of electrified sonic bliss. Holly will then lead a gentle yoga flow using our comfy mats to stretch upon.

All will enjoy a homemade MYA vegetarian soup with bread, cheese & crackers, and what I didn’t get to bring last time, vegan cupcakes! Next up is the sauna & cold plunge for a delightful finale. Adventurers can take their time reaping the benefits of heat and quick healthy shocks of cold.

Do not miss out on a fabulous opportunity to immerse yourself in positive energy both outdoors & in.

Cost: $65

Pop-Up Bike n' Banter Adventure

Like the popular stitch n’ bitch, MYA will be taking on a slight variation…

Join us in Bangor as we hit the city forest for a romp on the bike trails then head to downtown Orono for a beer, a banter sesh, and yummy snacks too!

Holly, founder of MYA, has been craving a bike ride so the adventure begins with your mountain, plus or fat tire bike on the sweet trails at Bangor City Forest. If you have your own bike please bring it along and if you need a bike, we’ll borrow one for you. We won’t be hitting any advanced trails, all are welcome to give mountain biking a try. The city forest is a wonderful area to ride, great scenery with both tight & wide trails. Adventurers will take their time soaking in the natural world and fresh air.

Post biking, we’ll pause for some sweet yoga stretches and then hit Holly’s other craving, good ol’ bantering (and beer of course!); the day before father’s day is the perfect time to get out all of the angst. We’ll head from the forest to Black Bear Brewing in downtown Orono, a fabulous place for fresh brewed beer (or your beverage of choice) and delicious snacks. Holly is happy to purchase adventurers a beverage and share some yummy eats.

Don’t miss out on a fun last minute pop-up adventure with biking, yoga, great people, local beer, snacks, and letting it all out!

Cost: $45. To register for this adventure, payment is available via VENMO (@maineyogaadventures_) or add to cart below...

Dancing & Wining Adventure

This adventure has been revised a few times due to Covid-19 and now, we’re officially good to go and hope that y’all will join us!

MYA and Christine Mihan, dancer, yogi, owner of Bangor Wine & Cheese, are coming together again for a fabulous outdoor adventure of yoga, dancing, and wine, cheese & chocolate tasting!

We'll begin our adventure at the Bangor City Forest taking our time to breath in the sights and sounds. Adventurers will take in the magic that is a forest community, mindful of all of the parts that make it complex and beautiful.

Holly will take some time to reveal some secrets of the forest relying on her past position as a naturalist. No fear adventurers, as we pause for moments of yoga and meditation, the yoga is light-hearted and simple - beginners welcome!

From the forest, adventurers will head over to a private residence in Bangor, keeping ourselves outdoors, it's time to get moving, time to get dancing! For a socially distancing appropriate activity, how about some line dancing? We will cover beginner level dances such as "Cupid Shuffle," "Fun For All"  and everyone's favorite, "Electric Slide."

No prior dance experience necessary, just bring comfy shoes and a fun spirit! We'll, of course, break up the dancing with some refreshments - wine tasting and yummy treats :)

Christine will guide us through bold and beautiful wines from Bangor Wine & Cheese, a popular pick up joint for tastebud happiness. Adventurers will get to enjoy cheeses that pair perfectly with the wine, rose & white, all available locally! Savour Chocolatier will offer up a tray of some of their fresh and finest artisan handcrafted chocolates to sample. Yummy!

The number of adventurers will be limited and MYA will follow all of Covid-19 precautions.

To register for this adventure, choose to add to cart below or payment is available via VENMO or a good ol’ check in the mail :)
