Post hike, we’ll find a nice quiet spot for picnicking and break into a sweet tasty spread. MYA is offering up homemade vegetarian Mexican/TexMex food for adventurers. Tecate, a yummy cerveza, will taste really good after working hard on the trail as will a 7 layer dip, bean & cheese tamales, and perhaps a big batch of margaritas! Cheers!

Festivus Spa Adventure

Sale 20% off!

Join MYA & Sanctuary Spa as they come together for blissful spa time, soaking feet & crafting gifties for loved ones with a festivus spin on things. Adventurers will get in outdoors time with yoga and assembling a ‘night tree’ with edible decorations for wildlife.

Festivus (a friend brought it to MYA’s attention last xmas), originates from the '90s sitcom Seinfeld, an episode titled "The Strike," in which George Costanza's family celebrates Festivus as an alternative to Christmas.

The best part is that everyone can air their grievances, the best medicine, along with laughter, as we make our way into the holidays. We might leave out the feats of strength portion of Festivus, or maybe not…

Our adventure begins at Sanctuary playful and fun with an outdoors yoga flow, getting to know each other and getting hyped for spa time. We’ll then take it inside for a fabulous bath boutique session! Adventurers will get to make their own (or make gifties for others) divine liquid soap, body scrub, and perfume. Expert instruction will enable adventurers to assemble quality, eco-friendly bath products at home (for themselves or more gift giving).

Sanctuary will also set up soak stations to relax feet in whilst perhaps enjoying a beverage from MYA. Not only is there soaking but also the amazing post-soak foot massage. A delightful spread of vegetarian food will be at the ready!

Adventurers will eat, spa, and unload any and all of their grievances. You’ve got to let go of all of that angst :) Please know that as the adventure finale we’ll fix the karmic scale and share some goodness with the natural world. We’ll give back to wildlife with a ‘night tree’, a wonderful tradition of decorating a tree in the forest with food for birds and other woodland critters.

Based on the Night Tree, a book by Eve Bunting, a true gem, we’ll build some edible creations like peanut butter & bird seed coated cones, string popcorn & cranberries, and orange slices. Adventurers will head out into the night and find the perfect tree.

Don’t miss out on a festive festivus spa adventure with plenty of relaxation time, take home goodies, super yummy food, and outdoors yoga & nature fabulousness!

Cost: $100. Now $80

Canceled: Outdoorsy Soaking & Skiing Santas Adventure

Sadness, had to cancel this adventure but hoping to get to the wonderful adventure house in Bethel sometime in the future :)

MYA is headed to Western Maine for some wicked fun, we’ll get in lots of outside time, relaxation in the hot tub, yoga, yummy eats, and skiing in your best Santa outfit! If we get some early snow (fingers crossed!), we’ll partake in snowtastic activities of snowga and cross-country skiing; if not, we can enjoy the hiking in the area which is fabulous. The final frolic will be downhill skiing at Sunday River if you’re up for it…

Friday afternoon/evening arrival time is flexible, there will be a happy hour and MYA will be offering up yummy vegetarian soup and more whenever the time is right. If you need to come late, no worries, we’ll feed you :) Adventurers have a private home to lounge and relax in; the 1870 farm home is in the heart of downtown Bethel with 4 bedrooms that sleep 12 comfortably with 2 bathrooms. A fav amenity is the hot tub which adventurers can indulge in whenever they like.

We can experience all that the sweet small town has to offer just minutes away from the home. We’ll be close to Gould Academy which makes for a very nice, walkable neighborhood with many surrounding farm-style residences; our prime location is very close to the local grocery store and numerous delightful restaurants.

Once we get closer and know what the weather holds, adventurers can decide to bring along your cross-country skis (definitely downhill skis or a snowboard) or snowshoes and get on the trails about a 15 minute walk away. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in Bethel is lovely, the fat biking trails may be groomed as well. Adventurers can even pop over to Carter’s Cross-Country Ski Center for more beautiful trails. If you need gear, please let MYA know. Don’t forget your sense of humor, your best snowsuit, and your best Santa suit!

After a yoga practice, a delicious breakfast, and outdoors activities on Saturday, folks can head into town for some free time or hang in the hot tub or cozy up on the couch. MYA will be handling a second vegetarian dinner in the evening.

Sundayfunday we’ll get up early for breakfast and yoga, and head out to Sunday River in Newry, just a ten minute drive. In full Santa attire (red Santa hat with white pompom, red Santa jacket, red Santa pants and Santa beard), we will celebrate the arrival of winter and the upcoming holiday season with more than 250 Santas cruising down to South Ridge! All money raised benefits the River Fund, a non-profit organization that supports youth education and recreation in the Bethel area. MYA will register adventurers ahead of time (open Nov 28th so please be sure to register for this adventure well in advance).

Adventurers will be sure to show up at the scheduled photo shoot at 11am, slopeside at South Ridge all dressed up. After the photo shoot, we will all go up South Ridge Express and then ski down Broadway, a beginner-friendly green trail. After the parade down Broadway, your ticket can get validated for the rest of the day and will receive an additional lift ticket valid until Christmas Eve. Super excited, MYA has always wanted to get in on the Santa Sunday!

Don’t miss out on this crazy fun, yummy, relaxing weekend in beautiful Bethel and beyond. If you’d like to come but want to opt out of the downhill Santa portion, no worries, there will be lots of quality adventuring time without it and you can always watch Santas coming down the mountain from the bottom :)

Cost: $400, includes two nights accommodations, two vegetarian dinners & breakfasts, happy hour, daily yoga, snowga, hot tubbing, night strolling, Santa Sunday, good vibes, great company

Spring Fever Pop-Up Hiking Adventure

Heads ups, I changed the date from Sunday to sunny Saturday!

MYA is so ready to get on the trails at Acadia before all the tourists do! It’s spring and that means fabulous spring hiking in Maine’s National Park; this time adventurers will take on Sargent Mountain with stunning views and even a waterfall along the way…

Adventurers are looking at a 4.5 mile loop hike along the Hadlock Brook Trail, up to the summit and over to the Maple Spring Trail back down. We’ll come prepared with microspikes in case of an icy patch or two. The beginning of the trail is a slow, gradual climb alongside the brook and after roughly half a mile, the trail reaches the famous waterfall bridge and the Around-Mountain Carriage Road, its skewed arch perfectly frames the beautiful Hadlock Falls, one of the few waterfalls in the park. The hike will get a bit more intense with a steadier climb post falls but no worries, we’ll take our time breathing in the beauty (plenty of water and snack breaks!). At the summit we’ll go for some relaxation and a yoga flow, the length of which will be very weather dependent.

To head down we’ll hop on the maple ridge, a lesser used magical trail that travels alongside a stream as well. Please note, if this trail is closed, there are other options to bring us down :) Lovely portions of the carriage trail will be visited along with bridges, one of which is the hemlock bridge, another beauty. Adventurers will enjoy the stream crossings and the glacial formations along the way.

After hiking adventurers will enjoy some vegetarian food, feel free to bring along your fav beverage.

Let’s celebrate spring with a hike to bring in the season!

Cost: $45 including a gorgeous hike, a yoga practice, yummy food, good vibes

Payment is available via VENMO @maineyogaadventures_ or a check or purchase below…

Please be aware of MYA’s cancellation policy - thanks :)

Curling & Arting Adventure

MYA is at it again, curling in Belfast! A new addition this time around, we’ll be creating some sweet art at Waterfall Arts Center. Of course we’ll get in plenty of vegetarian food and plenty of yoga, our practice will be along Penobscot Bay at the Harbor Walk. Don’t miss out on a funky fun local adventure…

We’ll begin with a wicked You Can Curl session at the The Belfast Curling Club! Only seven lucky adventurers will get a chance to join in the frolicking. We’ll have two dedicated instructors for our crew of beginners and one timers. After an overview of the game in the warming room, we’ll get to it on the ice for the crash course.

Adventurers will be guided through a typical game for two+ hours; curling to our heart’s content. You’re going to want to get your hands on that broom, so fun!

All will be bringing, not wearing, clean sneakers and wearing loose, warm clothing. Gloves and hats are useful. Layers are good - it’s about 40 degrees on the ice. Bad knees and hips are ok because, if necessary, you can use a stick. You must, however, have good balance. Let’s go yogis! Let’s team up, get competitive, and have a blast…

Adventurers will then head over to Waterfall Arts Center for more fun! In Belfast’s iconic, 80-year-old Gov. Anderson School, Waterfall Arts is Waldo County’s year-round community arts center with a global appeal. Over sixteen years, the founders, board and staff have developed hundreds of activities for thousands of visitors: arts exhibits, music and dance concerts, education in all creative media, events that support and nurture artists, farmers, life-long learners all with the intention to increase ability, expand awareness, and strengthen community.

We’ll be eating plenty of yummy vegetarian food, a hot soup, bread, cheese and dark chocolate - all of the goodness :) Then we’ll get into it, creating art in a grown-ups play date. MYA will delve into an art project perfect for the art-phobic and dabblers who are jealous of all the fun kids have in their art classes. It’ll be laid back, no-pressure experience in a judgement-free zone. We’ll have an art instructor all to ourselves to help us along. We’ll roll up our sleeves and have a wicked time…

Cost: $125. Very limited space! Payment is available via VENMO (@maineyogaadventures_) or a good ol’ check in the mail or purchase below with credit card.

MYA and Christine Mihan, dancer, yogi, owner of Bangor Wine & Cheese, are coming together again for a funtastic adventure of dancing and wine & cheese, we’ll also get in yoga, yummy vegetarian food, and a stroll through downtown as the city lights up for the festive holiday season…

The adventure begins at Thomas School of Dance, a big lovely space in downtown Bangor. Christine will lead us through moves that all adventurers can handle. We’ll be hitting some hot latin favorites, salsa, merengue & cha cha and throw in some rhumba just for kicks! A fun assemblage of latin heat will be the perfect December cure to warm us up before the cold of winter settles in.

Bring along a partner or we'll pair you up. Don't let a lack of a dance partner keep you from this fun! No prior dance experience necessary, just bring along your sense of adventure and your sense of humor.

During our spicy dance session, Christine will guide us through bold and beautiful red wines (please tell Holly if you really need white). Adventurers will get to enjoy cheeses that pair perfectly with the wine, yummy! Hiking & Hot Tubbing Adventure

Join MYA for a lovely Saturday as we hike the quarry trail to the summit of Mount Waldo in Frankfort then we’ll soak out the work in a fab hot tub, there will also be plenty of yoga and of course, yummy vegetarian food!

Adventurers will meet up at The Old Quarry Trail at the end of the Mt. Waldo Road, we’ll follow the trail along the old railroad bed half a mile to the old quarry. Granite blocks were carried by rail down to a wharf on the South Branch of Marsh Stream at the present site of the boat launch, where remains of the storage buildings are still visible. Fort Knox in Prospect was built with stone from this quarry.

We’ll continue our moderate hike from the quarry to the Mount Waldo summit on a trail behind the north quarry face (the most graffitied) where we’ll pass the quarry pond on our left. From an old woods road we’ll follow the pink ribboned trail less than a mile and 1/2 to the summit which has expansive views of the surrounding area. The trail follows the contours of the mountain, making an ascent over bare ledges through rich woods. Total distance is 3.5 miles round trip with a 950 foot vertical rise; adventurers will take their time soaking in all the beauty and we’ll get in pauses for yoga along the way.

Post hike is the eating, hot tubbing, and general merriment portion of the adventure! We’ll drive about a half hour to Orrington to a fellow adventurer’s home for vegetarian food and the most relaxing hot tub soaking with luxurious strong massage jets. We’ll also get to meet plenty of the resident dogs and cats, maybe Rhino the adventure chug will come along too :) Feel free to bring along your beverage of choice - the fire pit will be ready to warm you up as dusk settles in.

Precipice & Picnic: Pop-Up Hiking Adventure

  • Precipice Trail, Acadia National Park (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Get in on a Saturyay like no other - MYA is taking on the precipice trail in Acadia National Park! The trail is strenuous but the trail is magnificent, a true beauty full of ladders and ridges with views for days (when it isn’t foggy)!

Champlain Mountain has some of the most impressive cliffs as one of the highest mountains in the park. The Precipice Trail is a breathtaking trail that heads up these steep cliffs, navigating the various tight pathways and rock scrambles. Numerous iron rungs, ladders, handrails, and wooden bridges will help adventurers at the more difficult sections. With a name like "Precipice Trail," you know this is the most brilliant exhilarating hike in the park!

Adventurers are looking at a massively rewarding 4-5 hour long hike; one mile for Precipice Trail to summit of Champlain Mountain with an elevation gain of 850 feet; 2.6 miles for a complete loop hike. Yes, we’ll take plenty of breaks, drink lots of water and bring along snacks to keep us going - the point is to enjoy it, breathe and take in all of the beauty. We’ll find a sweet spot on top for some yoga.

Post hike we’ll get into a super yummy vegetarian picnic at lovely sand beach! We’ll relax and enjoy all of the goodness from a challenging hike. Please know that adventurers with a fear of heights may not want to take on such a beast but if you’re up for it with hikers bursting with positive energy, enthusiasm and a helping hand, perhaps you’d like to join us. Reach out to Holly (text/call 207-299-0082) with any questions.

Beachside Surf Adventure *postponed

Canceled my friends, we’ll try for next year🙏

Join MYA on lovely beach in Southern Maine for a weekend adventure with sweet inn accommodations, surf lessons, hiking, strolling, yummy food, plenty of yoga, and more…

We’ll be spending the weekend at the fab Higgins Beach Inn, a boutique experience literally steps away from the surf, the unspoiled, sandy shore of Higgins Beach. Nestled between historic Prouts Neck and the sandy beaches of Crescent Beach State Park in a quiet Maine coastal community approximately 7 miles south of Portland, and 110 miles north of Boston, the inn is a Maine beach hotel and three story colonial revival structure whose origin dates back to 1897. The rooms offer up peaceful and warm ambiance with a light and airy beachy feel, perfect for adventurers.

Very limited space! MYA is looking for adventurers willing to share. There are only three bedrooms available with one queen bed in each with the possibility of adding in a cot to each room. This doesn’t mean that you have to come as a couple; whoever would like to share with you, friends, family, an acquaintance, it all works!

Arrival time is flexible, adventurers can come early to hike and play in the area or wait until dinnertime, no worries either way. MYA will set up a happy hour & yummy vegetarian dinner for all. We can get in some evening yoga on the beach and watch the fabulous sunset.

In the morning, we’ll enjoy breakfast at the inn, omelettes, french toast, bagels, whatever suits your fancy. After a pause to digest, adventurers will take on the Legendary Cliff Walk, about a 90 minute trek roundtrip along the shoreline’s magnificent cliffs. Every turn on this walk leads to one breathtaking landscape after another. I’ve heard it’s very tricky to find but definitely worth it.

MYA will lay out some lunchtime snacks then we’re either getting into our surf lesson or saving it for Sunday. Flexibility and weather is key, we’ll get to hit the surf (with full wetsuits!) no matter what. Adventurers will have the best surf instruction around with Black Point Surf Shop - no experience necessary - we’ll have a talented pro guiding us the whole way thru. Coming highly recommended and in full support of local talent, craftsmen and woodworkers right here in Maine, Black Point showcases surfboards and paddle boards made at the shop and those crafted by fellow cold water surfers.

We’ll get in another session of sunset yoga on the beach to stretch out after our session of surfing and/or after a day of strolling/hiking. After nice warm showers at the inn, dinner will be up to adventurers - we could grab food and eat at the inn or have dinner out at a local restaurant that’s within walking distance or a very short drive.

We’ll have more of super tasty Higgins Beach Inn breakfast to get our Sundayfunday started and then we’ll see what magic the day holds - definitely more yoga! Please know that the yoga practices are accessible for everyone, no experience necessary. If we’ve already gotten in our surf lesson, there are plenty of pretty local hikes to explore such as Fort Williams Park w/ the Portland Head Light and more lounging & relaxing at the inn before checkout is a no brainer :)

Don’t miss out on a super fun beach inspired autumn weekend full of yoga, yummy food, getting outside all different ways, sweet accommodations for two nights, tasty breakfasts & happy hours, a homemade MYA dinner, and more…

Cost: $600/sharing queen bed or enjoying your own cot

Hike & Picnic Pop-Up Adventure

Working on rescheduling! Sorry for any inconvenience…

Join MYA for a last minute sundayfunday hike and picnic by the sea in fabulous Acadia National Park! We’ll get in sweet hiking with lots of lovely views, yoga anywhere we can, and eating yummy vegetarian food (ice cream for the big finish)…

Adventurers will take on the challenging but relatively short Schoodic Head Trail (Anvil Trail) that runs from Blueberry Hill Road to the summit of Schoodic Head, a small mountain. It begins at an elevation of 70 feet and ends at 442 feet, a climb of approximately 375 feet in .7 mile. While steep grades make for a good workout, it’s the rocks and roots that this trail a bit treacherous; adventurers will be paying close attention to their footing :) I recommend hiking poles if you like them for extra support.

The round trip hike is 2.6 miles. We may want to get in a little extra, hiking over to the views on the East Trail and working our way back on the nice & easy Alder Trail that glides inland from the rocky shore along a grassy path among fruit trees and alder bushes. It truly is an enjoyable hike with some great bursts of moss, rocky ledges and fab views. MYA won’t be in a rush, there’s nature to breathe and soak in. They even float around with a teapot just in case you need a warmer - love it!

Post-soak, adventurers will head out to the Brewer waterfront to stroll along the Penobscot River and get in some outdoor yoga. We may want to walk all the way down (it’s not far!) to Masons for a beverage…

Cost: $100 includes an hour long bungee fitness class, tasty vegetarian food, a lengthy luxurious foot soak, a yoga stroll, good vibes & great company

Payment is available via VENMO (@maineyogaadventures_) or a cash exchange, a good ol’ check in the mail or add to cart below…
